Annabeth's POV

I rushed through the camp, following Percy's voice as he cried for help, I just hoped I could get to him in time, why was nobody else coming, why did no one else care? The panic that I felt died down as I saw Percy and (Y/N) on the beach, he must have come to help Percy too.

I'm glad someone else cared enough to raise a finger to help him, though personally, I wouldn't have wasted time putting on all that armour. They were staring at the waves when I arrived. "What's going on?" I asked.

"We're going to the sea of monsters." (Y/N) said plainly, but there was excitement in his voice, he must really love killing monsters. Now all that armour made sense, I just wished I had more time to prepare. So did Percy apparently.

That announcement must have been a shock to him because he resembled a pufferfish with how his mouth was hanging open, I half expected him to start drooling again. But I was concerned with the voice I heard.

"I heard you calling for help!" I told Percy, who was still in shock. Then the sound of a hefty pair of feet hitting the sand sent shivers down my spine. "Me, too!" Tyson said. "Heard you yell, 'Bad things are attacking!'" "I didn't call you guys," Percy said. "I'm fine."

That made no sense, "But then who..." I said, my mind racing with the possibilities, only for my train of thought to be interrupted by two words and a yellow duffel bag. "Who cares!" (Y/N) said as he picked the bag up from the sand and putting his skateboard on his back somehow.

"Let's go! Percy, you're going, Tyson, you too, I can't be in two places at once and I don't want to leave you at camp just in case. Annabeth, you don't have to come but I'd prefer if you did." As he spoke, he pressed a yellow duffel bag into each of us and shouldered his.

As he fumbled his duffel bag, I finally noticed Percy was holding two things, a strange flask, I suppose some soup for the trip and a bottle of vitamins, "Well, that's one way to prepare for a sea voyage." I thought. But all I could say was "What –"

"Just listen," He said. "We don't have much time." He told us about a conversation he had with Hermes. Painful memories of Luke sprang up in my head. By the time he was finished, I could hear screeching in the distance – patrol harpies picking up our scent.

"Percy," I said, "we have to do the quest." "We'll get expelled, you know. Trust me, I'm an expert at getting expelled." He countered. (Y/N) cut through all the doubt of the matter. "Percy. You're getting on that boat. Or I'm breaking both your legs and dragging you on that boat."

A little violent for my liking, but it got the point across, I tried to appeal to Percy's more altruistic side. "Percy, if we fail, there won't be any camp to come back to." He made one last effort to talk me out of it, "Yeah, but you promised Chiron –"

"I promised I'd keep you from danger. I can only do that by coming with you! Tyson can stay behind and tell them –" "I want to go," Tyson said firmly. "No!" I insisted, trying to keep the panic out of my tone.

I mean (Y/N) can't be serious right? There was no way we could take a cyclops to the sea of monsters. Especially if we were going after a cyclops wile doing so, we couldn't trust it!

"I mean...Percy, come on. You know that's impossible." I tried to reason with him. Yet again, (Y/N) shut me down. "Tyson's coming, he has to." (Y/N) said firmly.

Tyson beamed at him, but looked at Percy, "I can come?" He asked. Tyson and I both looked at Percy, waiting for an answer. Meanwhile, the cruise ship was getting further and further away.

"We can't leave him," Percy decided. "Tantalus will punish him for us being gone." "Percy," I said, trying to keep my cool, "we're going to Polyphemus's island! Polyphemus is an S-i-k" no that wasn't right, "... a C-y-k..."
