POV: Person A's been torn about this crush they're having and doesn't know how to process it

3rd POV

Firey's been thinking about Coiny recently. Sure, Firey used to be great with the girls, and even some boys. They would have dates, hang out with each other often, and sometimes cuddle and relax after a challenge at some isolated grounds like the jawbreakers or forest. But with all the heartbreaks he's been getting and with the more difficult challenges they've been going through, he hasn't got the emotional or physical time to be dwelling on those. 

However, he now has more time on his hands. He doesn't know what to do with it, so he sits and ponders about his past relationships. His current friendships. And how others would perceive him. Not that he'd care about that since he not only won dream island but is just an overall fun and positive guy. Not as positive as Leafy or Coiny, but positive enough. 

Speaking of Coiny. Firey's recently noticed how close they've gotten. After their two seasons-long feuds, they sort of understand each other and can vibe with each other in a sense. Firey noticed how calm and happy he feels around Coiny despite the much negativity he originally had against Coiny. 

That's what Coiny has in himself, huh? The fun and positive attitude that no one can replicate. He genuinely loves Coiny's positivity on the challenges and that's half of the reason as to why he even tries amongst the challenges. He's glad Coiny's there for the team. 

So maybe Firey has a tiny crush, so what? It's not like his crush on him is gonna grow. Besides, they still have that long feud they gotta make up for before he can catch feelings ever. But he wishes that maybe one-day Coiny would go up to him and confess his love for him. Maybe one day.

"Yo, Fire dude!" Screamed the devil's talk. Firey looks at the man he's been thinking of and starts waving at him. Coiny runs up to Firey and sits next to him. He nudges the flame with his elbow.

"Howzit, teammate? Everything good?" Coiny asked. Firey smiled back.

"Yeah, sorta..." Firey looks down at the grass. Coiny looks up at the sky and sighs.

"It's nice today. No rain, no twinkle, no nothing to worry about today. Donut's being a pretty good host, huh?" 

"Yeah..." Firey distraughtly said. Coiny looks at him with confusion.

"What's up your ass today?" Coiny asked. Firey holds in a laugh.

"Isn't that what you say when people are angry?" 

"Yeah, and? That Doesn't mean it's meant for sadness only. Potato, Potatoh." Coiny said. Firey laughed a little before looking down.

"It's nothin'. Just thinking of somethin'." 

"Of what, exactly?" 

"Nothing in particular. Besides this one contestant, but eh..." Firey shrugged. Coiny looked at him.

"Is this a love-related thing, or..?" Coiny asked jokingly, yet was met with a not-so-jokingly look from Firey. He clears his throat awkwardly before looking around.

"Yeah, same here. I've been thinkin' about Pin recently. I know we were busy last season with managing the team and such, and we still are. But I feel like we can manage the team and...maybe date..." Coiny admits. The heart in Firey began to diminish. He figured this would happen.

"Oh yeah? Maybe you should tell her then, Mr. 'lovestruck'." Firey remarked while elbowing Coiny. Coiny chuckled back.

"Yeah well, we're chatting right now. Just hangin' out and all that. I was also thinking about Needle, but we don't have the spark we used to. Pin's a little better." Coiny admits. Every sentence out of Coiny was an arrow stabbing at Firey's heart. However, they weren't the love-struck ones Coiny has for Pin. They were shot by Cupid's evil twin. They were arrows with poison.

He knew this was toxic. Why go for someone who was originally your enemy and with a low friendship status? It's not worth it. But the feeling, whenever he talks with Coiny, feels nice. Is he toxic or weird for feeling this way? Is this why he isn't able to pull anyone with his charisma? Is it because deep down he was the one being pulled? 

"Huh..." was all Firey could spew. His mind was spiraling way too much and he needs to calm himself from doing so. I Guess Firey's gonna have to confess and forget how he did it with Leafy. 

"Welp, it's gettin' late. I'mma start headin' in." Firey says while standing up. He looks at the evening clouds with a look of courage. He eventually looks down at Coiny and smiles.

"It was fun talkin' with ya. I'll see you next challenge?" Firey states. Coiny nods in agreement.

"Thanks for listening to me back there. I needed to get my mind off of things, and talking about Pin and Needle made me feel somewhat better." Coiny smiled awkwardly. Firey pulls a thumbs up. He waves at Coiny before walking back toward where he currently resides on the island.

He knows feeling this way wasn't right, but he couldn't stop himself. He genuinely realizes how much he likes Coiny and he doesn't wanna ruin it. He's always ruined relationships between people he used to love, and now he doesn't wanna do that again. Especially with a man he genuinely loves right now. He assumed it was for the best to keep this all a secret.

Even though it hurts, you can't pull the sword out of a wound. It'll only make things worse.
