Shayla: Get the interrogation room ready

Shayla: Get the interrogation room ready.

Renjun nodded, leaving the room immediately.

Sicheng: What's that for?

Shayla: I am going to have a little chat with Taeyong. You can go.

She said, reaching for the door but his next words stopped her.

Sicheng: Take me along.

She chuckled humorously.

Shayla: You are not allowed to.

Sicheng: Its late night. Who cares?

Shayla: If you didn't know before, the station is open all day and night.

Sicheng: Just take me along.

He said with a sigh.

Shayla: Its not a place for commoners.

Sicheng: You know what... i will wait here.

Shayla: Alright.

She opened the door to leave but his words stopped her again.

Sicheng: Sadly i will miss a laugh.

Shayla: What?

Sicheng: As if Taeyong will tell you anything. When he doesn't, i will be waiting right here for your call to join you.

He gave her a sarcastic smile that she didn't like at all. He sat down, back facing her but she could tell he was still smirking in confidence. Shayla found his claim intimidating but she shrugged it off and went outside her office, making sure to close her door.

She walked to the interrogation room with a messy mind where she met Renjun.

Renjun: He is there.

She looked through the glass as Taeyong looked around the room with bored eyes. Suddenly Sicheng's words seemed more believable as she remembered the first time they had a talk.

Shayla: Renjun, get Sicheng here. And-

Renjun: Who now?

Shayla: The male in my office. He should be here though. Taeyong should not see him. I only want him here as a back up. If i look at the glass when i am talking to Taeyong, you will let Sicheng say something through the mike, alright?

Renjun: Wha- But he is a commoner. A gang member. He should not be here.

Shayla: He should not. But he will. Only then can i get anything out of Taeyong.

Renjun sighed in hesitance as he looked at Taeyong then back at her.

Renjun: Are you sure?

Shayla: Yes. Go now.

Renjun: Fine. But i should not fall in trouble.

Shayla: I shall take full blame if we are caught. Will you go now?

Renjun: Alright, i am going. Wait till i get back.

Shayla: Nope. I will be with Taeyong back then. I don't want to see Sicheng's smug smile.

She muttered the last sentence knowing he will be petty about it.

Renjun: What was that?

Shayla: Nothing- Go!

Renjun: Fine gosh.

He left and she took a deep breath before entering the room with Taeyong. Shayla sat opposite to him with a note pad.

Taeyong: hello detective.

Shayla: Taeyong.

She addressed him.

Taeyong: Why am i called here again?

Shayla: I have noticed someone coming to see you often. Friend? Gang member?

Maybe this subtle mention of Sicheng will work...

Taeyong: Why do you care? Just get on with your questions.

Didn't work. Dang it.

Shayla: Fine. I watched the CCTV. Your reaction to hitting Doksu and Inhye's car was... interesting. Care to explain?

Taeyong: You are the one being vague officer. I don't know what else i can tell other than the fact that i did not hit them intentionally.

Shayla studied his face carefully.

Maybe i don't need Sicheng to step in.

Shayla: Sicheng seems convinced you are not the killer.

At the name being called, Shayla saw a shift in position and very slight shift in his expression.

Taeyong: Who?

God... why is this man acting so hard to get?

She looked at the glass, giving a slight nod. The speaker switched on.

Sicheng: Hyung. Just say-

His voice cut off and she was more than sure that Renjun had only allowed his voice to come through. Feeling a bit more confident, Shayla looked back at Taeyong who stared at the glass for a minute before looking back at her.

Taeyong: Someone tampered with my car brakes. I was unable to stop the car. That's why i walked away. I knew i was gone for good. Tampering with the CCTV would only prove i did something wrong. Clearly whoever messed up my car was one step ahead, having my finger prints.
