The next morning Shayla was the last one to reach the office, having slept in. Though as she stepped in and greeted the two males, her eyes met Sicheng's. He had a small smirk on his lips as she couldn't help but go back to the heated kiss they shared last night, right here in the office. 

He was the one who dropped her home last night. But they hadn't talked sense and it weighed her down.

Though she shook off her thoughts and sat down at her seat while clearing her thoughts. 

Renjun: So who are we questioning today?

Shayla: I am not sure... I still have no idea. This is all a mess.

She said while facing the board and studying. All three of them faced it, almost waiting for the board itself to give them the answer. 

That was until a knock sounded on the door.

Shayla: Come in.

Seomhi stuck her head in. She gave Sicheng a look, clearly unsure of why a non-officer was in Shayla's office.

Sicheng: Don't give me that look. You see me everyday. 

The woman only rolled her eyes, before looking back at Shayla.

Seomhi: Um... Mino has called for you.

Shayla couldn't help but sigh in distress. Dealing with her supervisor was the last thing she needed. 

Shayla: Alright... i will be there.

Seomhi nodded before leaving. Shayla got up from her seat, heading to the door. But she was held back by someone grabbing her wrist. She turned and met eyes with Sicheng.

Sicheng: Please don't give in this time. 

Shayla: I won't...

She said in a low voice, a whisper almost. 

Renjun: Did... something happen between you two?

The two looked at Renjun before sharing a look. Though Shayla looked away first, surely blushing. She heard Renjun's gasp as he realized something, where as Sicheng released his grip on her wrist.

Renjun: Something happened after i left, right?!

Shayla: I am going.

She said before leaving immediately. 

Once she was on the way to Mino's office, she couldn't help but think of what to tell him. Clearly he would still bug her about closing the case.

And just that happened.

Mino: Do i need to fire you?

Shayla's eyes widened at that.

Shayla: Sir-

Mino: Its not like you have had any progress, why the hell would you keep it open? Are you using this as an excuse to slack off?

Not being noticed for all the work she had put in this week, made her annoyed.

Mino: You-

Shayla: Mr. Hwang Mino. I don't care if you have not noticed the amount of time i have spent on this case, but i am not slacking. I have gotten somewhere and i am very close to finding the real culprit.

The elder didn't seem happy with her tone. But she couldn't care at this point. 

Mino: So what? Haven't you only wasted all the time you spent. And why do you care so much. Lee Taeyong needs to be in jail for numerous other crimes. God his whole gang does.

Despite her having said these words a few days ago, she snapped. 

Shayla: Sir. He doesn't deserve jail. His whole group has turned on the system, because it failed them. And you are making me do that again by wanting me to close the case.

Somehow that shut him up. 

Mino: Fine... You make this so hard Shayla.

He sighed before staring at her with distaste clearly infecting his face and tone.

Mino: You have two days. Find the culprit. Or resign.
