Shayla: Something is not adding up. Why does she even need to kill her brother?
Her question was left answered as the three sat there in distress and none of their doubts or theories were adding up.
Renjun: Maybe he was mean to her? Told her off for being a drug addict? Refused to give her money for drugs?
Shayla: But Juli had mentioned that Doksu was nice to everyone. That kind of a person would rather work on getting his sister out of drugs than abandon her.
Sicheng: maybe she is not saying the entire truth either?
Renjun: She didn't say the truth from the start.
Shayla: I don't know anymore.
She said, sighing and sitting down at her seat. Her eyes made it to the clock, eye widening at the time.
Shayla: Renjun, didn't you need to be home by 10 for your sister? Its 11!
The younger male froze for a second before looking at the clock. His body moved in a hurry while he packed.
Renjun: Ah... why did my parents decide to drop her at my place... she is not even that young.
He complained while complaining.
Sicheng: Where are they going?
Renjun: For a dinner date. Alright i will leave now.
He said waving before leaving in a hurry. Now it was only Sicheng and Shayla. The two made eye contact before Shayla looked away. She got up and head to the board with the marker. She added Jungho and Haeri to the list of suspects.
Shayla: She had no intention to kill him though... nothing we know of.
She whispered to herself.
Sicheng: maybe his death helped her in a way?
Shayla turned to him, finding him standing against the table, arms folded while staring at the board. At the moment Shayla couldn't get her eyes off him. He wore a perfectly fit button up and jeans, he looked so fine she could-
Sicheng: Shayla?
Shayla: hm? yeah... maybe...
She cleared her throat looking away from him.
Though her eyes found his again in no time. At that moment the two forgot the lines of their work and a silent understanding passed between them.
Sicheng: So... what do you plan on doing now?
Shayla: I don't know... what do you think i should do?
Silence was what she was met with.
Sicheng: If you are willing to... we can make an exception.
The words hung in the air with unspoken meaning. Shayla's heart raced as she realized the dangerous path they were leading to. The case had thrust them together and now an undeniable chemistry sparked between them.
Without a word Sicheng walked closer to her and their eyes met again in an intense stare off within the close proximity.
His eyes searched her's for permission.
In that instant, Shayla made a choice. She let go of her inhibitions, her duty, and surrendered to him. Their lips met in a fierce and desperate embrace, a collision of passion and secrets that had been kept at bay.
Time seemed to stand still as they kissed, the outside world fading away. In that stolen moment, their entangled bodies told a tale of tension, danger, and forbidden desire. It was a culmination of their shared pursuit of truth, bound by a connection that defied logic.
As they broke the kiss, their breaths hitched, Shayla's eyes met Sicheng's, and a knowing smile played on his lips. They had just crossed a line.
She didn't even know when she had grown the feels for the man in front of her who, right now, openly held her in his arms.
Oh heck, they crossed a border line.
