Sicheng: You are a pain in the ass.
Renjun: You are not even supposed to be here. Now will you shut up so i can listen to what he is saying.
Sicheng cursed at Renjun in his head before focusing on what Taeyong was revealing. His eyes widened at the information released. He believed the leader. But Shayla's straight face got him worried. What if she didn't trust a word he said?
And when the interrogation was over, she kind of forced him to leave. She told him to come back later cause she needed to think, before enclosing herself in her cabin.
Renjun: Don't worry. She will just think about it all and see if it adds up.
Sicheng: Fine... but just trust what he says.
Renjun: We will see. Go now.
He turned, doing no further debate. Sicheng was worried. This could be way more messed up than he thought.
He reached the base late that night, wandering the streets in his car, just thinking about everything that happened thus far.
He realised he really needed Shayla to understand it all just so that she could work harder. If she loses interest suddenly, it wouldn't be so nice.
---
Shayla stared at her notes on the clear board.
Renjun: Are you trusting what Taeyong said?
Shayla: Did Sicheng ask me to believe in him?
Renjun: Yes. But there's no way you are effecting your decision based on what he says.
Shayla: No but... it seems like Taeyong is saying the truth.
The younger was silent for a good minute before speaking again.
Renjun: It does seem like it. What are you planning on doing?
She stayed silent. Her mind was racing but she couldn't see why anyone would want to kill Doksu.
Shayla: We will go see his workplace and then to the hospital to ask about the autopsy.
Renjun: About that.
Shayla: Hm?
Renjun: His family refused an autopsy because they want to do proper cremation.
Shayla: that's understandable. Fine.
Renjun: And apparently Inhye was pregnant.
That made Shayla freeze in her place. She faced Renjun in confusion.
Shayla: She was?
He nodded and she just sighed.
Shayla: God...
---
The next day they were on their way to Doksu and Inhye's work place. But it wasn't Renjun with Shayla. It was Sicheng who was driving her over.
Sicheng: Why didn't Renjun come?
Shayla: He usually never leaves the office. And he is covering up for me since my supervisor wants me to close this case. Also i don't think he likes you.
Sicheng scoffed to that but Shayla kept her eyes on the file.
Shayla: The reading is making me dizzy.
Sicheng looked over at the girl who closed her eyes and placed her head against the head rest.
Sicheng: It will take us a bit to get there. Sleep till then. Stop reading it if it makes you sick.
Shayla: Are you sure? Won't you feel sleepy if i sleep here?
Sicheng: I will be fine.
He said, uninterested really. From the corner of his eye she saw her shrug before shifting to a comfortable position and falling asleep.
On reaching the place Sicheng parked carefully before looking over at the female who was fast asleep. He just stared at her for a moment. He was really grateful for her to be working this hard.
But if she wasn't going to get proper rest she won't be able to do her job properly.
