It had been a day and Sicheng's words were really bugging her, to the point that she got no sleep. The entire night she spent in her cabin, she watched the CCTV again and again. There was only a short amount of footage, the CCTV being shut off at least half an hour after the accident and at the sight it was discovered trashed.

The door to her office opened and the moment Renjun walked in he gasped.

Renjun: Why do you look so dead? 

Shayla: Mind getting me a coffee Huang?

Renjun: do i looked like your secretary?

She looked up from her laptop and made eye contact with him. He grimaced a little before putting his bag near his desk and taking off his coat, hanging it on the coat hanger.

Renjun: Fine. But only this time, cause you look like you really need it.

Shayla: Thanks!

She shouted as he left the office. Once he was gone she looked back at the footage, frowning. Something was off. 

Renjun came back soon, and Shayla took the initiative to ask him. 

Shayla: Okay... Renjun?

Renjun: Hm?

Shayla: What happened with the CCTV near the accident site?

Renjun: The accident site? The Lee Taeyong case? I thought we were closing it?

Shayla: Just answer, will you?

Renjun: Well... it shut off after at least half an hour from the hit. And we found it wrecked at the scene. 

Shayla: And we assumed that Taeyong did it?

Renjun: Well yes. And that his finger prints were found on the destroyed machine.

Shayla: But why would he do that?

She asked more to herself than the male in front of her, who seemed worried, wondering what she was on about.

Renjun: Why are you asking such things?

Shayla: It doesn't make sense Renjun.

Renjun: What do you mean?

Shayla: See. We were told that a passer-by who was smoking saw the vehicle. But that's not on the CCTV because it was-

Renjun: Destroyed. Yes.

Shayla: But why would Taeyong do that? 

Renjun: To get rid of evidence? He probably didn't know that the recordings get saved.

Shayla shook her head, not finding the reasoning sensible.

Shayla: The CCTV did not capture anyone approaching to hit it. Even if it was broken on site, we can't see with what it was broken, which ideally the camera should have caught. Besides, do you really think a CCTV can be broken easily by hand to get his fingerprints on it? Clearly the CCTV was switched off from the device its connected to. 

Renjun, who was silently listening, was finally understanding her doubts.

Shayla: And if it was Taeyong who shut the CCTV, then why not delete the video of his car hitting the victims?
