Chapter 1| They Meet

ONCE upon a time, in an enchanted forest lived a lonely, yet friendly dragon named Draco. All the other dragons made fun of Draco for being so friendly. One day, even his dad yelled at him, saying,
“Son, either you can be ferocious like the other dragons, or you can be kicked out of the herd... FOREVER!”
And Draco replied,
“Dad, I'm leaving… FOREVER! I no longer care if this is where Mom is buried!” Then, his dad said,
“You're a BABY! How are you going to make it on your own?” Draco roared,
“I DON'T CARE!” and he ran off, crying lightly.

First, he saw a baby deer. He was so excited, he almost forgot he was a dragon. He ran to hug it, but before he could, the deer ran off as if frightened. Next, he saw a wolf. He ran up to the wolf to hug it, but it ran off before he could. Then, he saw a white tigress with her cubs. He wanted to hug them all, but, again, they all ran off before he could. He cried again. He walked a little more, then he saw the most beautiful unicorn he'd ever seen. Her silvery mane flowed behind her, with flowers in it. He wanted to hug her, but he had to think twice.
“On one claw, unicorns have a good sense of judgement. On the other claw, she could run away. What do I do? Maybe I should find out.”

So, he walked cautiously towards her, and said quietly and shyly , “Hi.” Then she looked at him and said, “Hello there. I'm Una.” “You're not scared of me?”
“Should I be?”
“No. I mean, I'm supposed to be scary, but I'm not.”
“I'm not scared of you. I can see how sweet you are. I can see it in your eyes. I see your story. You ran away from everything you knew just to make one friend.”
“I like you so much right now.” Then she kissed him on the nose and said,
“I know.”
