Chapter 5| New Friends

One day, a few years later, the four of them were walking through the forest and they heard a rustling in the bushes. Draco curled up around his family and said,
“Get behind me!” They all cowered behind Draco and looked around.

Out of the bushes popped a little lime green monster with one eye, yellow and orange horns, legs and arms and said,
“Fear not, my friends. I am Ike Krakowski. And this is my friend, John S. Pullivan.”

A brown monster with red ears, two googly eyes, a big smile, a blue scarf, a ripped yellow shirt with a heart and googly eye on it, red shorts, one yellow leg and one brown leg, a yellow bunny-like tail and pointy arms came out of the bush and said,
“Ynnhoj em llac nac uoy tub ,Navillup S. Nhoj m'I ,iH.”

“What?” Gelbanth asked.
“Oh, his language is backwards. He introduced himself and told you that you can call him Johnny. He understands normal speech, he just can't speak it. He likes hugs, too. In fact, his shirt says so.” Ike said.
“Thgir yltcaxe s'taht.” Johnny said.
“Come. We will take you to our creators. They're a wizard priest and a witch. James Whisp and Kendra Gregorovitch. Don't worry, they're good.” Ike said.

He and Johnny waddled towards the sunset. The family followed the two monsters and came to a giant tree with a purple door on it. A kindly beautiful plump woman opened the door and smiled.
“Welcome, dearies. Come on in. It's a lot bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. I'm Kendra Gregorovitch, but just call me Ken.” Ken said. She got out of the doorway and the six of them filed in. She shut the door as soon as they were all in. She had short auburn hair, spectacles, ice blue eyes and long pink fingernails.
“James! Come down here! We have company!” Ken called out.
“Good company or bad company?” a deep voice shouted back.
“If it were bad company, wouldn't I sound more panicked?” Ken asked loudly.
“Oh, yeah. I guess you're right.” He muttered as he slowly descended down the spiral steps. He was handsome, with a chiseled jaw, blue eyes, a curly dark brown mullet and a thin stature. “How may I help you fine… Individuals?” James asked.
“Well,” Una started, “I'm Una, this is Draco and these are our kids, Gelbanth and Joyful Starry Smile.”

“Are you two married? Not that it's any of our business.” James asked.
“Um… What's married?” Draco asked. Ken gasped.
“You don't know what marriage is? Marriage is when you and someone you love bond together forever.” she looked wistfully towards James.
“Are you two married?” Gelbanth asked Ken. She laughed and said,
“No, no no no no no, darling.” Then she muttered, “I wish.”

“I have no need for a wife yet. I'm 100 years young! I got 900 years left in my life! I have 300 years left to find one!” James stated. “Wait, why do you live so long?” Draco asked. “Oh, it's a spell I did. I put it on her and me. God willing we don't get caught by Princess Snowball.” James stated.

“Who?” asked Una.
“Um, you don't know who Princess Snowball is? She's the cruel sister of King Houdini. She took over while he's on the Great Mouse Crusades. Oh, they're cats, BT dubs.” Ken explained.
“What the flying fuzzy French furry fluffy falafels? Why are cats ruling a kingdom?” Draco asked.

“Well, I suppose that the old queen and king left them the kingdom, since they never had children and they're actually called Nekothropes, so they made Houdini king since he was the eldest. He was kind, but since he left, Snowball usurped his throne. Long live King Houdini.” James stated.
“Well, what if we could form an alliance to usurp Princess Snowball?” Una asked. “There's already a resistance planning a revolution, but we don't have enough members. Too many fear her, almost to the point where her name is taboo.” Ken sighed. “I thought you said her name was Snowball.” Draco giggled. Una shot him an annoyed look and Draco shamefully looked down and apologized.

“Hey, Ken.” James said, “These guys could really be useful to the revolution.” *Author's note: between these two scenes, they have a long conversation about their plan and together come to a mutual agreement that benefited all parties.*
