Chapter 2| The Evil Wizard

The next year, Una and Draco were great friends and lived in a cave. They snuggled together every night for warmth as it was cold in the cave. Una got up carefully, grabbed her basket in her mouth, and quietly trotted outside the cave to go pick berries for the both of them. Draco woke up shortly after that and saw Una was gone. He worried for a minute, but only a minute. He laid his head down and patiently waited. The Sun went to bed and Una did not return. Now Draco was worried.
“I'm a grown dragon now. I’ll use my instincts to find her.”

Meanwhile, Nicholas Blackheart, the evil wizard, had managed to lead Una into a trap and had her in his castle. Nicholas let out an evil laugh as lightning struck the tower. “Don't worry, my dear! All I need is a strand of your mane!” he proclaimed in his raspy voice.
“You won't get away with this! My Draco will come for me and roast you like firewood!” Una stated as if she knew this was as sure as the sun setting and rising. Nicolas laughed again and replied,
“Then he'll bring me exactly what I want: one of his scales.” He plucked a hair from Una’s tail as Una yelped in pain and kicked her hooves. She barely missed Nicolas’ hand and he jumped.

“Ooh, a feisty one! Ha ha ha!” He threw the hair into his cauldron and stirred it until it turned a milky white. He heard a roar and looked up as if he could see through the roof. Draco was in the sky, circling the castle. He swooped through the window and dust blew about the room and everyone coughed. When the dust settled, Draco struck a heroic pose.
“Get away from her, you KORNUK!” Nicolas laughed again, picked up a pair of tongs and plucked a scale from Draco’s side and Draco roared in pain.
“What was that for?” Nicolas plopped the scale in the cauldron and stirred it until it turned an emerald green color.

“Now I can cast my spell on you! With an enchanted pearl, canned hyena laughs, eye of newt and toe of frog, Sperm whale flukes and raven's egg, I cast my spell on you!” A poof of green smoke rose up and covered Draco and Una. Draco got mad and did something he swore he would never do: used his fire as a weapon. He roasted Nicolas like firewood.

“Are you ok, Una?” Draco asked, freeing her from her chain. Una rose up and nuzzled Draco.
“Much better now that you're here.” she replied.
“Come on. Let's go home.” Draco told her, scooping her up and flew towards their cave.
