It was an incredibly intense match I was playing in, being the middle blocker for the boys volleyball team at Konoha high school. We were one match away from the finals, and it had never been this close before. Both we and our opposition had two sets, and in this final one it was a match point in our favor.

It seemed as though the match had been going on forever. This rally was filled with powerful moves on both sides, and as the ball was spiked by our opposition I quickly jumped and readied myself to block. I managed to block it but I lost my balance due to the impact of the ball. As soon as I landed though, I heard a pop. Around me people gasped, looking at me in shock, their eyes traveling down my leg. I glanced down and immediately pain ran through my body as I saw my knee swelling. I cried out in pain, tears gathered in my eyes as I clutched onto my knee and fell down, screaming out.

The distinct blue uniform of the paramedics soon surrounded me, but everything was a blur. I screamed out in pain as I was lifted, landing on something soft a second later which I realized was a stretcher. Angry tears leaked from my eyes as I was wheeled away from the court, me just desperate to get back onto the court and win our team that final point.

Everything around me was blurring as I heard familiar voices of my teammates calling out to me, followed by one distinct voice. "(M/N)!"

(Sasuke POV)

My stomach dropped as I watched my boyfriend land awkwardly. A loud scream echoed through the gym and I felt as seconds later I saw paramedics run onto the court in his direction. "Go... Sasuke, go!" Naruto nudged me and I didn't need him to tell me twice.

I ran from the stands out into the corridors, toward the court's entrance and saw the team of paramedics run from it, pushing a stretcher my boyfriend occupied. "(M/N)!" I screamed out, running quickly and seeing the paramedics put a face mask over his mouth.

"Sir, please stand back–" One of the paramedics tried to say.

"He's my boyfriend

"We need to get him to the ER quickly, please stand back." They said and I watched helplessly as they pushed him into an ambulance and drove away.

I sat by his bedside, not wanting to deliver the bad news. He'd been put to sleep as the x-ray revealed that he had torn his ACL and required surgery, which had been done over an hour ago.

The whole team had visited him, very tearful as they told me of their loss. We all knew (M/N) would try and blame himself, so we agreed it'd be best if I told him the news alone. The boys had left cards and sweets for when he woke up, but I was still having difficulty finding the right words to tell him of his team's defeat.

A deep breath and a slight twitch of his fingers told me he was waking up. I looked at him and saw his eyes flutter open slightly, landing on me immediately. "Hey babe." I quickly sat on the side of his bed, supping his cheek.

"Sasuke.." He mumbled. "What happened?"

"You tore your ACL." I said and he looked at me sarcastically. "No, really? I meant the game, who won?"

"No one blames you (M/N)." I said and the pain that appeared on his face made my heart ache. "It's my fault-"

"No, it's not." I said sternly. "You've got twelve players in your team, it's not all on you. It was still a great match." He sighed, staring at our interlocked hands still feeling guilty. "You were amazing out there (N/N)."

"Thanks.." He muttered. "Oh, the boys stopped by to give you stuff but you were asleep. Now you can stuff your face with sugary treats." I said and a small smirk appeared on his face.
