After picking up mister Tanner's coffee the following morning, Warren knocked on his boss' office like usual, except today he was feeling as anxious as he hadn't for weeks. He was absolutely certain that he wasn't crushing on his boss, though, right?
Well, maybe not absolutely certain, but very certain.

"Good morning, Warren," mister Tanner greeted him like always, except today he gave him an unusually kind smile.

Alright, so maybe he wasn't very certain, but still certain. "Good morning, sir."
After they had begun working together, Warren had had a very hard time ignoring how attracted he felt towards the lawyer, but after putting a lot of hard work and dedication into hating him, he had mostly managed to ignore it; unfortunately, after yesterday, his efforts had turned out mostly in vain.

"I have Branson coming in today, right?" Mister Tanner continued, reading over a few papers.

"Yes, sir. At 9," Warren confirmed as he handed him his coffee.

"Right. Thank you." Tanner gave him another one of those strange smiles that made Warren's stomach feel funny. Well, certain was a very strong word.
"Could you please get me all past files we have on Branson?" Tanner was always very thorough and every time he spoke to a client that was new to him, he made sure to find out everything the firm had ever done with this client.

"Right away." Meanwhile, Warren was well acquainted with the storage room in the basement so finding the right files shouldn't be a problem.

"Thank you." Tanner gave him another smile that Warren vehemently tried to ignore as he rushed out. He was just being silly because for the first time in his entire life, a cute, sweet, hot guy had been interested in talking to him personally. Under normal circumstances, the only guys who were ever interested in getting to know him were either super old, creepy, ugly, smelly, or all of the above.
Yes, he was just overreacting. It's not as if Tanner had a personal interest in him, right? Of course not - he was just trying to clear the air between them due to that horrible, stupid mistake Warren had made that night.
Yes, exactly; that was it. It had nothing to do with anything personal.
Yes. It was normal for them to sit in a copy room and talk about Oreo cookies... That didn't mean anything. And later have lunch together...

Warren wanted to slap himself. Why did he always have to read so much into things? He needed to get a life.

Besides, he was still madly in love with Jack, the love of his life, so he really didn't have time to pay attention to other guys. Right?
Right.

Warren returned with the past Branson cases before Tristan had even finished his coffee and managed to return a few e-mails.

"My uncle always worked with Branson, right?" Tristan asked as Warren placed the stack of folders on his desk.

"Yes, I think so." Warren nodded in his usual bleak fashion. Apparently, they had gone back to the day before yesterday.

"What do you know about them?" Tristan continued casually. Last night he had actually come to the conclusion that it would be better for them to have nothing more than a professional relationship, but now that he actually saw Warren again, all those resolutions went out the window.

"Um... Not much. They're a leather processing company from Texas... They produce car seats, furniture upholstering, stuff like that." Warren shrugged.

Tristan nodded, sitting down and gesturing for Warren to take a seat opposite his desk. It wasn't as if he really needed Warren's help with the case, but he didn't have another excuse to get him to stay.
"What else do we know?"
