Chapter 8: To Buy or not To Buy? pt. 1

It's morning in the city of Orario. It's been 2 days since the events of the last chapter. Danny has since then been waking up early in the morning around 5:00 AM to have an hour of self sword practice before eventually leaving for the hostess of fertility to further improve his skills under the tutelage of Ryu Lion (did I not mention her surname? I think I did). Within those 2 days as well, he and Bell had been secretly going to the seventh and eighth floors of the dungeon behind Eina's back, gathering magic stones and improving their status along the way.

Our attention is drawn towards the sound of wooden swords clashing as an intense battle was going on just behind the tavern. Danny was charging towards Ryu and sending multiple angled high speed strikes at Ryu who almost effortlessly deflected all of them. Ryu attacked with a vertical slash which Danny dodged by leaping backwards to create some space. Seeing a window of opportunity, Ryu dashed to send multiple sword strikes at Danny which he almost barely deflected and proceeded to break the barrage with a strong vertical slash which pushed Ryu a bit back. The two continued to trade blows, each being blocked or dodged by the other until Danny got the upper hand and did a horizontal slash to Ryu's chest which she dodged by quickly ducking and she proceeded to side sweep Danny's leg's and he plummeted to the ground.

"Ack!" Danny groaned(?) as he landed on the ground.

"That was good, you're getting the hang of things" Ryu praised. "And very quickly I might add"

"Yeah doesn't seem like it from were I'm looking" Danny replied sarcastically.

"Don't undermine yourself Danny-san" Ryu scolded as she gave Danny some help getting up. "You're only a level 1 and not used to fighting humans who don't rely solely on instinct. No level 1 could beat a level 4 with those problems however you're probably the strongest level 1 in Orario right now"

"Thanks for the praise" Danny said as he held Ryu's hand.

"Let's take a break" Ryu said as she walked towards a makeshift bench near their training grounds.

"Sure, I could use one" Danny replied as he followed suit and sat lazily next to Ryu.

'This is good, at the pace I'm going, I could probably start practicing One sword style in a few weeks' Danny thought excitedly. 'I should thank Ryu one day..... maybe a gift or an outing? I'll think about it when the time comes......'

Unbeknownst to Danny, the elf sitting right next to him was staring at him with curiosity and a hint of interest, carefully assessing his facial expressions and trying to figure out what he was thinking.

"You're gotten better" Ryu spoke breaking their silence.

"Hm- huh? Oh! Yeah I guess I have" Danny said jolting from his thoughts.

"With this I'm sure the upper floors won't be that much of a challenge for you especially with your powers"

"Well to be honest I haven't really had a challenge even before I started training"

"Oh? Which floor did you get to before training?" Ryu asked.

"The seventh floor" Danny answered.

"I see, with your ice invulnerability and manipulation, reaching those floors is an easy task but don't give your guild advisor a heart attack Danny-san" Ryu advised.

"She's probably gonna after the stunt me and Bell have been pulling for the past few days" Danny said grinning.

"Stunt?" Ryu asked with confusion.

"Well....... Me and Bell have been raiding the eighth floor for the past few days" Danny said a bit hesitantly.

"What? But Danny isn't that dangerous? Especially for Cranel-san" Ryu asked, a bit shocked and worried by Danny's words.
