A/N -
so this is kinda an idea I had abt Abhi and Akshu's confession after Akshu's accident.

Udaipur

Akshara chased after Aarohi's car, only to hear the sound of a blaring horn. She quickly turned around, her eyes widening, there was a truck heading straight in her direction. Before she knew it, she was lying on the ground, her body aching with pain.
As her life flashed before her eyes - all she could think about was how she didn't get to tell him. She didn't get to tell her Abhi that she loved him.

Abhimanyu's POV

Abhimanyu stumbled backwards out of the OT, his heart pounding in his chest, his hands trembling. He couldn't breathe.

"Abhimanyu, how's Akshara? Beta please tell us, our child is okay na?" He heard Bade Papa in the background, but it was like the whole world had been put on mute. All he could hear was his heart thudding, all he could feel was the blood rushing in his ears.

He stumbled back, only to hit the wall and felt his legs give out. God it hurt, his chest fucking hurt, he wanted to claw it out. He felt himself gasping for breath, his lungs squeezing - He couldn't breathe. She could have died. He could have lost her.

"Abhimanyu, what's wrong?" Sir came near him, but Abhimanyu was too far gone. A panic attack, he was having a panic attack.

"Ca-can't breathe." He choked out, grasping at his throat.

His uncle rushed towards him, "He's having a panic attack, Abhimanyu look at me, take a deep breath."

"Sh-she could have died, I would have lost her. I ca-can't" He felt the tears clogging his throat.

Mahima Birla rushed out of the OT, only to see her family and the Goenka's surround a panic stricken Abhimanyu. She should have seen this coming, Abhimanyu had powered through and successfully treated Akshara, but the whole ordeal had taken a toll on him. How could it not have? Unlike his parents who were too blind to see the truth, Mahima knew Abhimanyu was and will always be in love with Akshara Goenka. The past few weeks he had tried to put up a facade of moving on, but the possibility of loosing Akshara had shaken him up. Forced him to come to terms with his truth.

"Abhimanyu look at me, Akshara is okay now, you saved her. Count backwards with me now, come on" Mahima calmed him down, feeling a tug in her heart. It's true that she had her own motives at heart, but Abhi was also her nephew and seeing him now - all haggard, his eyes rimmed red, shoulders weighed down with fear and pain, she felt guilty. She needed to talk to Manjiri and Harsh.

Harshvardhan loosened his tie, his fists clenching - he hadn't expected this, Abhimanyu always had iron control - his emotions were always in check, he didn't fumble under pressure but rather thrived on it, it was the reason he was such an accomplished doctor. To see his son so broken, so defeated - he had underestimated his son's feelings for that girl. Rather, he had chosen to not understand it. Perhaps, this marriage with Aarohi Goenka was a mistake.

Abhimanyu let out another shaky breath, he looked up only for his eyes to meet a troubled Aarohi.
"I l-love her, I'm sorry but I ca-can't, I can't lose her. I know she doesn't love me, but I do. I love her so much it fucking hurts. I can't breathe without her. I don't care if she doesn't love me back, I just need her alive. I just need her to be happy, that's enough for me."

Aarohi Goenka's heart and mind was at war - she couldn't help the guilt that was creeping over her. Akshara had been chasing her car when she had met with the accident. If she had just stopped, just looked back, she could have prevented this. Akshu could have died her conscious screamed at her. It's true that she didn't like her sister, but rather held her responsible for all the misfortunes that had befallen her. But when she heard of her sister's accident, her entire body had seized up, her heart aching with fear. She couldn't lose another loved one. She couldn't lose any more family. Suddenly all she could recollect were all the moments where Akshu had gone above and beyond to make her happy. And now seeing Abhimanyu break down in front of her? A small part of her knew what she was doing was wrong - that what she felt for Abhimanyu was not love. That Abhimanyu loved her sister and well her sister loved him too. Akshu might not have voiced it but her actions screamed with her love for Abhimanyu.
