A/N - set after the events of Abhi's confession - Abhinav, Abhir and Akshara have returned to Kasauli, however continuing the previous one shot Akshara and Abhinav are just parents to Abhir and purely platonic.

One shot about Abhir's illness and truth reveal to Abhi

Kasauli

Akshara observed her son fondly, Abhir was tying the laces on his football shoes chattering away about the upcoming football match.

"Mumma, see these are the shoes docman gave me."

Akshara felt her breath catch, she hadn't expected her son to grow so attached to Abhimanyu, infact ever since they had returned all Abhir could talk about was Abhimanyu

He's his father, his own flesh and blood, did you think like would not call out to like?

She should have seen it coming, infact she was shocked no one had joined the dots back in Udaipur considering how much Abhir resembled Abhimanyu in everything, from his intellect to his fierce way of loving. But Abhir had also inherited his father's famous anger, and she needed her son to understand that his anger could bring harm to not just him but also his loved ones.

But he will be angry at you - if he ever finds out that you lied about his parentage, his identity.
He will feel betrayed

Akshara's thoughts warred in her mind, 6 years ago when her life had all but exploded in front of her, she had done her best to salvage the pieces. She had made decisions which she could not bring herself to regret but she also didn't want her son to face it's adverse consequences.

Was she not snatching her son's identity away ? Yes Abhimanyu had refused to hear her out but did that mean she could raise her son in a bubble of lies?
Did she not know better than anyone how it felt to be told that your childhood had been a facade, that her birth mother had been Naira mumma. It hadn't reduced her love for Sirat Mumma but it had made her question her identity, she had felt betrayed as if a piece of her had been kept away. And she didn't even have the chance to get to know Naira Mumma, but Abhir still could. He could still get to know Abhimanyu. Her son deserved that didn't he?

And what about Abhimanyu ? Yes he refused to hear you out and with that he lost 6 years of his son's life. But didn't he deserve to know that the child he is still mourning was alive ?

Even she couldn't deny that Abhimanyu was nothing but a shell of man, a man stuck in the past, still grieving, still hurting.

Yes he had hurt her, broken her - but she could not do wrong by her son, her baby, her Abhir, the reason for her existence.

She had to tell Abhir the truth.

"Abhir, baby we need to talk, I need to tell you something."

"What is it mumma?"

"Come here, let's go to the garden."

Akshara took Abhir to the garden, and sat on the chair. She placed Abhir on her lap, holding him close, needing that contact with her son. She hoped this conversation went well and her son didn't end up hating her after she was done.

"I want to tell you a story about a little girl"

"Was she a princess?"

"Well I suppose she was, her father loved her very much and in his eyes, the little girl was his princess, his lucky charm.
The little girl had two lovely parents who loved her very much, but one day she got to know that she was her mother's stepdaughter. The little girl was heartbroken. She felt confused, lied to, even a bit angry. But then her parents sat her down, and told her the truth. How she had two mothers - she was born in the womb of one mother and in the heart of another.
