"Must've left to go to the store" Crumbling the note and throwing it away you make your way back into your room and throw yourself onto the bed as you kick off your shoes. "God, I'm exhausted." You sign out as you take off your shirt and sigh in relief as the cool air of the air conditioner hits you, finally you aren't being cooked like a rotisserie chicken. Laying back down you soon drift to sleep, again.
Mom's POV:
We were running out of milk so I decided to leave (Y/N) a note in case he comes home before me. Taking the extra key I lock the front door and head out with (y/s) in their stroller.
It's been a while since we've been here, my memory of this area has certainly faded but I do remember some bigger stores we'd usually go to. Walking in I start searching the aisles for the dairy products section. On my way I also collected some extra snacks that the others would enjoy and some extra baby food for (y/s).
Stopping at the drinks aisle I also took some of (Y/N)'s favorite drink he has lately been obsessing over. I never understood the hype around them since it's just an ordinary really oddly tasting drink but whatever.
Finally checking out I walk home, handing (y/s) their pacifier so they can stop whimpering and throwing a tantrum in the stroller. "I know it's hot outside, but please just wait a little longer. Our house is barely 10 meters away." I pant out, exhausted from the heat. (Y/N) went out in such thick clothing, sometimes i feel bad for the boy. How the hell does he survive in this summer heat?!
Y/N's POV:
I was brutally awoken from my rather peaceful unexpected nap. Opening my eyes I see (y/s) drooling all over my hand as they, for some reason, attempt to 'eat' my hand. "Ew ew ew stop. My hands are dirty, you sack of drool" I cringe as I Wipe my hand on my bed sheet.
"Another of many reasons I. Will. NOT. Have. Kids." I sternly reminded myself as (y/s) just continued drooling all over the place. Taking a tissue from the box on my bedside table I wipe their face. As they were doing their weird baby noises I placed them on my lap and zoning out.
The man I met this morning knows where I live. He can just stop by and chop us all up anytime he desires. The locks. The cameras. I have to set them up as soon as posi— A hand waved in front of my face as my thoughts were cut short. "Mom!" I sigh. "Sorry love, I know it's annoying when people do that but I got worried, you usually respond after the second time I call your name" She apologized as your annoyed expression softened. "No its fine, really. I wasn't thinking about much anyways." I smile again as i get up from my bed and hand (y/s) back to my mom.
"I should go set up the new security system." She nods and says she'll be unpacking the groceries back in the kitchen as I myself start fishing the newly bought items out of the bag.
'How do you even install a security system?' I thought, holding the box with the cables and cameras inside. 'Do you have to get an electrician to do it.. is there a youtube tutorial?' Hearing the front door open I make my way downstairs, it must be dad. "Hey pops, could you help me set up the security system?" He looks at me as I hand him over the box, opening it he grabs the folded instructions paper and reads through them.
"Ya got the new locks too, boy?" He asks, continuing to read through the paper. "Yep I did. Oh! And I got a job!" I said proudly as my mom emerged from the other room to congratulate me. "That's lovely to hear!" I gave her a smile as my dad continued. "I'm proud of ya' champ, I'll set up the cameras but could you replace the window and door locks around the house?"
"Sure, the tools are still in the boxes in the garage right?" I asked, already halfway out of the room as he gave me a nod in confirmation. It didn't take long for me to find the big cardboard box that was filled with screwdrivers.
"There you are." I say as I pick up the rather heavy tool box and take it to the nearest window to start with the lock changing. Minutes turned into hours and before I noticed it was already night time. "Holly shit, how long have I been working for?" I ask in disbelief as I wipe the sweat off my forehead. "Language (Y/N)" You dad warned as he put down the extra pieces from the camera system that was now perfectly installed around the house.
"Are the locks done?" He continued as you nod "Yup, just finished with the last one." I dropped the tool back into its box and cracked my knuckles that were starting to feel a bit sore. "Okay amazing, your mother should be done with dinner soon" He said heading off to the kitchen to let your mother know the two of you were done.
"Phew, finally. My back is so sore.." I whine, dragging myself to the kitchen and sitting down on one of the counter island chairs as my parents were being all and lovey dovey with each other. "Man I want a stable relationship like this" I sigh as my mom cluckled. "Focus on stabilizing your life first kid. Get rich than think about love" Your dad joked, ruffling your hair. "Sure, how about I get a guy named Rich?" I joke back, expecting to accidentally create an uncomfortable tension but the opposite happened, they laughed along.
