Although she belongs to a noble house, Shellarine never felt herself a noble, so she prefers people calling her Shell instead of her full name. In the Circle of Magi all students were treated equally.
Shellarine wasn't very popular among her peers and couldn't understand what's so special about boys... Before meeting Cullen, she'd never even kissed a guy and at first it was hard for her to understand what she feels towards him.
Shell is mostly calm and collected, but at the same time she has a strong sense of justice, and always ready to stand for her family. Like you can say watever you want about me, but don't even dare to offend my parents. Also Shellarine doesn't forgive betrayal or violence towards animals, dogs especially. Yes, she loves animals. Blackwall's childhood story about leaving a puppy to die made her feeling sick...
What she really couldn't forgive, was Blackwalls lie. She freed him considering herself obligated, because he was a so called friend and helped the Inquisition many times, but they couldn't be friends after this. Shell also got rid of Sera, this elven rogue was not the type of companion she could rely on. All other teammates and advisers became Shell's good friends.
The first confrontation with Corypheus scared her to death and meeting with Carrie Hawke was like a beacon of hope, since Hawke already dealt with him before.
Shell never felt herself a leader and for a long time couldn't get used to the fact that she became the catalyst of happening events. Fortunately she was not alone in this.
Shellarine's dream is to become a great and powerful mage and to have a dog companion.
