“AQing, AXing, are you sure you both haven’t overdone it?” Wei Ying asked nervously, looking at his reflection as well as his Lan Zhan’s predatory golden gaze, in the mirror, that were staring intensely at his perfectly styled eyebrows, light smokey makeup enhancing his hypnotizing silver eyes and his red tinted, soft glossy lips, hungrily

“No, mama. Xiao Yuan gege always addressed you as Beautiful gege. I’m just trying to show him how much more beautiful you are now, and you’re mine. I-I mean, my mama, baba! My Mamma!” AQing corrected herself immediately, feeling the intense glare of her baba on her back.

“Lan Zhan!” Wei Ying scolded, looking at his husband in disbelief before looking at his reflection in the mirror and mumbling to himself, “I just hope I’m not looking too old now.”

“Old?!” Jingyi asked, looking at Wei Ying’s reflection in the mirror, incredulously, “Got some problem with your eyes, Senior Wei? Have you even aged a bit in the last five years? Although your real age is the same as Hanguang Jun, around 41 years old, and if counted from the time you returned to us six years ago, you should still look like 25 years old but don’t know if it’s because of your immortality or something else, to me, you and Jin Ling look the same!

In fact, Ayuan and I, being twenty-six years old, actually look older than you! We look quite similar to Hanguang Jun now!”

“…”

“…”

“Jingyi gege?! Do you not want to join us in our travel to another dimension?! You could just say it directly, you know.” Lan Mingxing said with a polite smile on her face but her eyes said otherwise.

“Did I say something wrong again?” Jingyi asked confusedly, scratching the back of his head

“Suddenly, I’m so disappointed that you like him, Ajie,” AYun muttered under his breath, standing in between Mingxing and Ayuan and looking at his potential future brother-in-law, stoically

Ahem! It’s okay, Yun. We’ll see.” Ayuan whispered discreetly with a smile on his face and turned to look at his baby sister, “Are we all ready to leave now?”

“Mn.” Wei XiWang nodded, closing her eyes and suddenly, in a split second, they were all standing in exactly the same white and sky blue themed living room, near the same sofa, they once shared with their counterparts, around 5- no, over 18 years ago in this world, but…something wasn’t quite right.

“Lan Zhan?!” Wei Ying whispered nervously, bringing his AQing down from his arms and making her stand on the floor as he looked around the hall and asked in a slightly scared, low voice, “Why are all the lights turned off and only thermal diodes are working?! And… why is it so silent? Did…something happen to all of them? I- I am not liking this a bit, Lan Zhan. Am I really too late to come back here?”

“Wei Ying…” Lan Zhan said calmly and firmly in his deep voice, centring his husband’s emotions as he wrapped his arms around a trembling Wei Ying and started rubbing soothing circles on his back, “We might’ve teleported here at the wrong time. They might be asleep. We aren’t late. Let’s wait.”

R-Really?! You must be right, husband. I-I’m worrying for nothing. But why am I feeling so…anxious? And…” Wei Ying stopped speaking abruptly, extricated himself from his Lan Zhan’s arms and walked in a particular direction, towards a specific room in the gallery which as per his latest memory, didn’t belong to Alpha Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, nor did it belong to Xichen ge, Jiang Cheng, Mingjue ge or their children at that time.

In fact, if Wei Ying remembers clearly then this was the same unoccupied room, next to the infirmary where he used to go and breastfeed his AQing, every day after his therapy.
