"It has been over a week!" Lan Qiren grumbled, "How much more time do they need?!"
"Uncle, it's Wangji's first marriage. They are still new to it..." Lan Xichen replied, absentmindedly, as a habit of saving his baby brother from the ire of their uncle while trying to solve the inter-sect disputes on behalf of his didi who is the Chief cultivator of the whole cultivation world.
Jiang Cheng nudged Lan Xichen, discreetly, baffled by his absurd reply
"Ah! I mean, Wangji married the man of his dreams! After more than sixteen years of waiting and suffering, they're finally together. Just give them some time, I'm sure they'll come around...soon," Lan Xichen explained with his signature smile plastered on his face, "Besides, I have Sect Leader Jiang here to help me with the Sect work"
"Xichen, you-"
"Good evening, Xiongzhang! Uncle! Sect Leader Jiang!" Lan Zhan greeted them as he entered Yashi
"Oh! Wangji! There you are! How are you doing, didi?" Lan Xichen greeted back, exuberantly, throwing a quick glance at his Uncle and Wanyin
"Mn. I'm here to request an extension of my leave. My Wei Ying is unwell," Lan Zhan said with a straight face
"Oh no! Although I'd love to hear your shenanigans, this isn't the right time, didi. At least not in front of Uncle," Lan Xichen muttered under his breath
"Why? What happened to Wuxian?" Grandmaster Lan asked, frowning
'Here we go!' Lan Xichen sighed
"My Wei Ying is tired, hurt and sore." Lan Zhan answered, unable to hide the little smug smile that crept on his face
"Shameless!" Grandmaster Lan exclaimed in anger and disbelief, "How did you become like this, Wangji?! Don't forget who you are!"
"Mn" Lan Zhan nodded, unaffected by his fuming Uncle
"How's Axian besides being hurt, didi? What about the baby? And Axian's life force?" Lan Xichen asked, diverting the topic
"Good," Lan Zhan said, grinning broadly but his lips not used to such a smile, were now stretched awkwardly in a thin straight line, making him look way too creepy.
"STOP THAT!" Jiang Cheng exclaimed
"Mn?!" Lan Zhan frowned, confusedly, despising that angry lotus for interrupting his thoughts about his Wei Ying
"Is there something you want to tell us, Wangji?! You look quite...happy!" Lan Xichen prodded, curiously
"Mn. Succeeded in forming a golden core," Lan Zhan answered proudly
"What do you mean, Hanguang Jun?" Healer Fu asked frowning as he entered Yashi and bowed to the Sect Leaders, Grandmaster Lan and Hanguang Jun
"Exactly that, Healer Fu." Lan Zhan nodded, too happy to mind anyone's words
"I mean, can you please explain a bit clearer?" Healer Fu asked, politely
"My Wei Ying has a golden core circulating in his dantian. Came into being this morning. Weak, for now, but working fine. Coexisting mutually with baby's soul energy," Lan Zhan explained to the best of his capability, already missing his Wei Ying's loving presence beside him
"How's that even possible?!" Healer Fu looked at Hanguang Jun, shocked and bewildered
"Worked hard. Day and Night. Minimum breaks," Lan Zhan's broad smile was back with all its creepiness
"Of Course! Why Else Would Wei Wuxian Be Hurt And Sore, You Fiend!" Jiang Cheng shouted, angrily at Lan Zhan although a large part of his heart rejoiced for his brother
