Chapter 20 - Daddy's Little Princess

3rd person's POV

As soon as the ambulance stopped at the hospital, they rushed Jack to the emergency room. Hailey was left in the waiting room of the hospital until the doctor allows her to see her father. She was panicking and kept of thinking about her dad's condition but still thought positively despite the blood that lost. She knows her dad is a tough and strong man. A bleeding shoulder won't get on his way.

She quickly called her aunt and was on her way to the hospital. After a half an hour, she arrived with her husband, Kristoff and a sleeping toddler in his arms.

Anna rushed to hug Hailey whose eyes are red and puffy from the sobs. "Oh Hailey, everything's going to be fine ok?" She caressed Hailey's hair as she cooed. She just nodded and continued crying on her aunt's shoulder and clutch on her shirt. As soon as Hailey pulled away, Anna cupped her godchild's cheeks and kissed her forehead. She smiled sadly and exhaled. Anna took the toddler and showed her to Hailey who giggled at the drooling baby.

"Why don't you go ahead play with Jace for a while to distract you?" She handed Jace to Hailey and he started pulling her hair and giggling. Hailey nodded and went to sit on one of the benches in the room while the couple waited for the doctor's announcements.

AN HOUR LATER

Hailey's POV

"Jack Frost?" The doctor called out and we rushed to him while I was still carrying Jace in my arms. The doctor was pleased to see us and we nodded. "Well? How's my dad?" As soon as I said that, the doctor looked at me worriedly and my eyes started to water. "No no no no no he can't be dead!" I raised my voice and looked at him in disbelief.

The doctor tensed up when I yelled and he held his hands up calming me down with aunt Anna. "Oh no no no, your dad's still alive," When he said that, I stopped raging and they sighed in relief. The doctor cleared his throat and looked at us. "He's lost alot of blood and is very weak. He needs a--" He looked at his clipboard with infos and looked back at us. "--type B blood donor," Aunt Anna and uncle Kristoff started conversing about it but told the doctor their blood types, types A and O.

I raised my hand. "I'll do it," they all looked at me, "How old are you, miss..." He trailed off. "Hailey. Hailey Jade Frost, he's my dad and i'm 15 years old. Is there something wrong?" I crossed my arms and looked at him. He sighed, "Well, a legal blood donor should be atleast 18 years old or older." I scowled madly at him and marched toward him, pointing. "Listen here doctor--Manny, my father's life is at risk and you can't question me now that I am saving my father's life after these years I haven't seen him. Now if you don't want me to donate then might as well blackmail you to the police." I whisper to him through gritted teeth as he stare at me terrifyingly. He nodded furiously and lead me to the blood donation room where he asked me to sit and wait for a nurse to get my blood.

Jack's POV

I feel pain. Wait, why do I feel pain but not reacting to it? Am I dead? No I can't be dead, i'm feeling. But why am I not waking up? "Dad," A feminine voice called me. I recognized that voice easily and felt my heart beating again. It was the last voice I heard before I drifted off to unconciousness.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw only white and the sound of machines. I blinked a couple times and my vision came back. There I saw silvery white hair and heart machines beside me. It was my daughter who I love so much, Hailey. I looked at her, "Hail," I managed to say with my hoarse and dry voice. She was crying of happiness when she saw me looking at her. "Daddy," she hugged me tightly and then it hit me.

"Daddy?" I looked at her while I tried sitting up. She smiled, "I've always wanted to call you that when I first saw you," What she said melted my heart and felt a tear run down my cheek. She giggled and wiped the tear with her thumb and kissed my cheek. I hugged her tightly as she sat beside me to get a better position.

She pulled away and ran outside of the room leaving me there crying happily. "I remember everything now," I muttered to myself happily and smiled. She went back shortly with Anna and Kristoff with their son. She hugged me tightly and Kristoff patted my back while Hailey had the giggling toddler in her arms. She was grinning at me with tears in her eyes.

"Oh Jack, you wouldn't believe how worried your daughter was!" She punched my arm playfully and crossed her arms pretending to pout. Kristoff put an arm around her and we all bursted into laughter.

As we ended our laughter I smiled at them. "Where's Elsa?" They looked at each other and their gaze landed on me. Hailey handed the baby to Anna and sat beside me. "Um... Well she actually doesn't know i'm seeing you right now... Turns out she's very sick and I just couldn't bare letting her know about it or she'll cry again," I felt crushed when she said she was sick and i'm not there to entertain her. "What do you mean she'll cry again?" She sighed and held my hand. "You remember mom being diagnosed with depression right?" I nodded. "Well, since then she's been really stressed and just--she cries the pain out."

I exhaled disappointingly and burried my face in my hands. I felt a hand on my shoulder, "It wasn't your fault, Jack. She just has to understand that you've been all alone for several years and barely remembered her." The words of Anna calmed me down, I smiled at her. Maybe it's time I tell them.

"I have something to tell you guys," I started and they looked at me after our silence. I sighed, "I-I remember everything now." I said as I looked at their reactions. Anna gasped and Kristoff was wide-eyed. Then I heard sniffles and heavy breathing, I looked to my left and saw Hailey crying with her hands covering her mouth. She broke down crying but was caught by Kristoff before she land on the floor.

She took support from the bed's sheets and brought me into a very tight embrace, I could barely breathe from her grip. I hugged her back and caressed her back to calm her down. Anna and Kristoff smiled at us warmly, Kristoff did a thumbs up and I did as well. I kissed my daughter's forehead and she pulled away, wiping her tears and grinning widely. I smiled to her and rubbed her cheek with the back of my hand.

I sighed, "I need you guys to help me with something," They nodded and smiled at me. I felt grateful and continued, "I'm planning on a serenade for Elsa, Saturday next week. I need a few helping hands to prepare the venue, guests and decorations." After I said that, Anna and Hailey squealed happily while Kristoff raised his fists in the air. "I idolize you, man. I'm proud of you," Kristoff patted my back and I nodded, grinning.

Then I decided to talk to Hailey privately. I asked the couple to give us some private time. They nodded and left the room. "What's up, dad?" Hailey asked as she went to lay down beside me in the hospital bed.

"Hail, can you promise me to take care of your mother for me?" I wrapped my arms around her and we cuddled. "Of course daddy," she said simply and I smiled warmly. "You know, you remind me of your mother alot when we were in highschool. She was a new girl that time and someone made fun of her sister. She didn't hesitate to punch the guts of that guy."Really? Mom was that brave to really punch a guy's gut?!" I nodded and she laughed. "I was the most popular guy in that school. I had a girlfriend once, her name was Cindy. But when I saw how your mom punch that guy, I was impressed and there, I ditched my girlfriend for your mom. From then on, we never stopped loving each other."

"No wonder she never gave up on finding you when I was young. She still loved you," I nodded but frowned when I remembered her cry infront of me when I didn't believe her. Since that day, she was diagnosed with depression all because of me and now, i'm gonna reunite with my beautiful goddess once I get out of this hospital. "That's why I love you very much Hailey. You're stars in the starry night I always loved and the raindrops I enjoy when it's raining. You're my little girl forever." I kissed her forehead and hugged her.

"I love you, daddy." She whispered.

"I love you too, my little princess."
