Chapter 6 - Hailey meets her 'dad'

Elsa's POV

"Mommy, wake up! Wake up! It's my birthday! Wake up!" Hailey yelled as she jumped on me.

I moaned from what she was doing. "Ok, ok. Mommy's up, mommy's up."

I yawned and rubbed my eyes and saw hailey smiling at me widely. I smiled back and gave her a hug.

"Happy 5th birthday, sweetie!" I greeted her and kissed her forehead.

"Now, go get ready. Mommy's gonna pick something up from her office and after that we'll go wherever you want, ok?"

She nodded happily as she left my room skipping.

I fixed my bed and went to my bathroom to make a quick shower.

After i finished taking a bath, i wore a semi-formal outfit and brought extra clothes for hailey's birthday hangout.

"Hailey, we're leaving in 5 minutes! Make sure you brush your teeth and check if you have everything you need!"

"Yes mommy!" She yelled back.

As soon as i finished preparing, i called hailey from her room and we left. We drove to my office.

"Alright hailey, we will be meeting other people. So be polite and always smile, ok?" I told her while smiling.

"Yes, mommy" she smiled back.

As we took the elevator, a few people entered it, waving hailey a 'hello' since they knew she was my daughter. As soon as the elevator stopped, we went to alot of rooms. Then finally, i was called by our boss telling me that we will be having a short meeting. I couldn't bring hailey inside since she wouldn't understand adult conversations. So i left her outside the waiting room telling her to be in her best behaivor and not cause any accidents. She nodded and smiled.

I waved goodbye and she waved back.

Jack's POV

I was called by my new boss telling me that we will be having a short meeting to meet my new officemates. As i walked to the waiting room to get a glass of water, a little girl accidentally bumped into me. She lost her balance and almost hit the floor. Thank God the floor was covered with a mat. She rubbed her head signaling that her head hit my legs hard.

I quickly walked up to her and help her up. Since she was as tall as half of my legs, i have to sit on my knees (if that made sense) to apologize and check on her. It's funny, she kinda looks like me.

"I'm so sorry sweetie, are you ok?" I asked as i checked her forehead to see if she had a bruise or something. Thank the good Lord she wasn't hurt.

"I-i'm fine mister. Thank you" she said, still rubbing her forehead but she smiled.

"Where's your mommy?" I asked softly

"Oh, she's in a... Meeter? Meet-" she tried her best to pronounce it but failed to do so

"A meeting?" She nodded.

"What's your name?" I asked

"Hailey" she said smiling. This kid never actually stopped smiling. She kinda reminds me of... Of elsa.

Hailey... I think i heard that name.... Wait, wasn't that the name me and elsa chose to name our daughter? Wait, what am i thinking... Jack, you've completely lost your mind.

I was about to say something when she suddenly hugged me. I felt like i was hugging my own daughter. I hugged her back. Then she pulled away.

"Hey, i gotta go Hailey. It's nice to meet you!" I said as i stood up and waved her goodbye.

Why do i have this strange feeling like i just talked to my own daughter?

"Ok, goodbye! Nice meeting you all!" I waved goodbge to my new officemates.

I saw hailey sitting patiently on the couch. She flashed a big smile when she saw me. "Mommy!" She ran up to me and gave me a hug. "Hey sweetie!" I hugged back.

As soon as we pulled back from the hug, we walked to the elevator to the lobby.

"Mommy, i have something to tell you" hailey said as we walked out of the building.

"Oh what is it?"

"I was hopping around the place where you left me and i bumped into a big man"

"Oh? Can you describe the man for me? And was he scary?"

"The big man had white hair like mine and blue eyes. They were sparkling like snowflakes! He was tall and very white. He almost looked like a dead person but he wasn't. And no, he wasn't scary"

I giggled a bit then i suddenly remembered what she said. A tall guy with white hair, blue eyes and pale? It looked like she almost describe jack. But who am i kidding? He's probably dead by now!

But i realized she wasn't finish.

"Mommy, he was also nice to me! He even hugged me because i hugged him. As i was looking at him, he looked so worried about me. Like... Like he was my daddy" she suddenly lost her smile. Which made me tear.

I'm worried she might ask me where her father is. What am i gonna tell her? And will she be able to understand?

As soon as we arrived at the park and found a parking spot, we got outside the car and strolled around. What a beautiful day! I remember walking in the park with jack when we were still in highschool.

"Mommy"

"Yes?"

"I'm gonna play! Wanna join mommy?"

"No it's ok hun, mommy's kinda tired. Go ahead, i'll watch instead" i said as i was smiling. Hailey nodded and ran to the playground. I found a bench just infront of it and sat there thinking about the man hailey was talking about.

'Jack, i know you're still alive and is somewhere. You couldn't get farther than New York and San Francisco, right? I never stopped believing that someday we'll be together again. I don't want Hailey to grow up not having a father of her own. And I promised you and myself, since our wedding, that I will never ever replace you with another. I just hope you're still alive. I miss you so much and most of all, i love you so much. Hailey misses you, she just doesn't know she does yet since she has no idea where you are and who you are. But i know deep inside her, she's waiting for you to come back. So please, find a way to come here to us so that we'll be together again, once and for all.'

I thought to myself, trying my best to not tear a bit so that hailey won't notice.
