"we are the warriors that built this town."

Alice can't continue running. Her legs are burning from overuse. She feels nothing but immense pain, weakness and faintness. Trying her best to continue running but her best isn't good enough. Her vision is fading in and out. Black dots were starting to block her vision, making it difficult to avoid obstacles.

Alice stops in her tracks, giving up on running. If the Grounders want to kill her then so be it. It feels like she's dying anyway. She cautiously sits down on the fallen tree beside her. She looks up to the sky as she breathes heavily, trying to catch her breath.

Sunrays beam through the leaves and like a constellation of shooting stars. She closes her eyes, embracing the warmth of the sun on her skin. Her body was slightly swaying left and right, unable to hold her balance.

Bellamy glances behind him to check up on Alice. He stops in his tracks as soon as he notices her sitting on the log. She is as white as paper with splashes of blood covering her body from head to toe. Her clothes are partially torn from the Grounders' attacks.

Bellamy runs back to Alice, avoiding the holes and stumps in his way. He crouches down in front of her, placing a hand on her knee. She lightly flinches in shock, opening her eyes as she looks down at him.

"I can't keep running, Bell. You have to go without me. The Grounders are still coming after us." Alice tells Bellamy, not wanting him to die because of her.

Bellamy stares at Alice in disbelief, shaking his head. "Alice. I'm not leaving you. Not now. Not ever." He sternly responds.

Alice opens her mouth to object but Bellamy quickly places his hand over it. He puts his finger up to his mouth, warning her to stay silent. He looks arounds he hears the sound of crunching leaves nearby. He gets up, aiming his spear in the direction of the sound.

"Bellamy? Alice?" Monroe says in surprise as she gets up from her spot close by. Alice turns her head to look at Monroe. A sigh of relief escaped her lips knowing the girl was okay. The two girls exchange a glance. Smiling softly at each other.

Sterling stands up beside Monroe. "Get back down." Bellamy warns them as he lightly grabs Alice's hand, gently pulling her to hide behind the tree. She crouches in front of him, leaning on the tree to support her balance. The other two quickly rush to Bellamy and Alice, hiding behind the tree with them.

"Have you seen Finn?" Bellamy asks the pair. Alice has completely forgotten about Finn. She is too wrapped up in her own thoughts and pain to realize that he isn't with them anymore.

"Finn's alive?" Sterling quietly questions as he leans against the tree.

"He was. We got separated. We knew the fire was coming, so we ran. But one of them followed." Bellamy whispers to them, explaining the story. Everyone cautiously pokes their heads up to see if the Grounder is nearby.

"How'd you guys get out?" Bellamy asks as he looks them up and down.

"We, uh, saw The Ark come down, and we thought we'd come get help. Piece of it came down this way. Monroe thinks it's Mecha, but personally I think–" Stirling explains to Bellamy but stops when they hear chattering in the distance.

Everyone glances in the direction of the chatter, curious to see who they are. "Follow me. Stay low and quiet." Bellamy gets up as he starts to creep towards the source of noise. Alice gets up as she slightly winces in pain, following behind Bellamy.

Bellamy glances at Alice in concern when he hears her wince. Her physical state isn't getting any better. At this point he's not sure if it will even get better. They need to find help. Fast. He looks away as he continues leading the group, avoiding the obstacles in the way.
