A/N: If you didn't read Rescue Missions and My Horrendous Luck, you missed out on some important relationship building.

Hiccup's POV

"Have you ever been wingwalking?" Y/n asked, smiling. Our time in Pandora's Box brightened her spirit, storing some of her hopeful light.

"Um, no, kinda hard to do that with a peg leg." I replied. Truth was I had never tried. I was always too nervous about the possibility of putting a hole in Toothless's wing or the two of us falling out of the sky.

"I could fly Toothless and you could try on Zyphur. Her wings are a little sturdier." Y/n offered. Toothless grumbled. "No offense, bud. It's just that her wings are more metallic and thicker while yours are a little on the thin side, but that makes you faster so I guess you're even." She rambled apologetically.

"Sure, we can try. You got a place in mind?" I asked, shrugging.

"Yeah, there's this spot where the updrafts are so strong that a Speed Stinger can fly."

"You do know they don't have wings, right?" I knew that she did. Her knowledge on dragons was probably four times larger than mine since she was raised alongside them, but I kept up the banter anyway in the hope of keeping her distracted.

"That was kinda my point!" She called back as Zyphur zoomed ahead. We raced through the tunnel, taking the gap over the upside down "V", until we were hovering over the open sea.

Your POV

You rounded the edge of the island, Hiccup and Toothless taking the lead. Valka and Cloudjumper were waiting on a ledge with a handful of other dragons. She waved and you raced to her. Hiccup won, obviously, but it was a close race. You landed on the ledge and slid off Zyphur's back. Hiccup looked at you confused.

"Are we still trading?" You asked, gesturing between Toothless and Zyphur.

"Um..." Hiccup hesitated.

"Don't trust me?" You teased, but he hung his head.

"Honestly, y/n. After that fall yesterday..." He started, but you understood. You had expected him to change his mind, especially knowing that he wouldn't want to risk hurting Toothless. You shrugged, giving him a small smile.

"I get it. Let me know if you change your mind." Then Zyphur spread her wings and lept off the ledge.

The updrafts immediately caught her, her wings rippling in the strong currents of air. You turned, saluted Hiccup and Valka, then backflipped off the ledge to follow her.

Hiccup's POV

Show off!

I watched her fall in a more controlled tumble, this time. My mind carried me back over our adventures. How many times had she thrown herself out of the saddle to save one of us? How many times had she fought from the ground instead of the air? I sighed. For a Dragon Rider, she didn't seem to ride her dragon very much.

Though I didn't have much room to talk, since it was my fault that Toothless couldn't fly on his own. I had spent the last two years working on fixing that problem, between battling Viggo, Dagur, and the hunters, with some success. Toothless and I could separate and fly side by side for a little bit, but the coming together was still a bit tricky.

Maybe y/n has some ideas about that.

"Come on, Hiccup! You're missing all the fun!" Y/n called as she landed on Zyphur's back in a pirouette, her left arm stretching out towards me. Mom and Cloudjumper had already jumped while I was lost in thought.
