The moon hung low in the night sky, casting its silvery glow through the car window. As the familiar melody played on the radio, I turned to face her. Our eyes met and in that moment, it felt like time stood still.

"Sarah," I said softly. "This song..."

She smiled gently. "I know."

Reaching over, she took my hand in hers. Her touch sent little sparks through my body, warming me from the inside out. I always felt this way when we were alone together - like I was home, whole and young again.

We had known each other since we were children. Over the years, our friendship had grown into something more. But we had never taken that leap, despite the depth of my feelings for her. Now, sitting here in this car with our fingers intertwined, I knew I had to tell her.

Squeezing her hand, I said the words I'd waited so long to say. "I love you, Sarah. I always have."

She turned to face me fully, her eyes shining with emotion. Cupping my cheek, she leaned in and gently pressed her lips to mine. I melted into her kiss, for in that moment nothing else mattered.

Pulling away slightly, she pressed her forehead against mine. "I love you too," she whispered. "However far away you are, I always will."

I gazed into her eyes, feeling myself falling into their warm depths. "I will always love you," I replied. And in that 'lovesong' playing softly on the radio, I knew our story had only just begun.
