*Time to watch Rock Daily*
"Did you catch that performance last night? Chad? Metal and Rock have never seen a performance quite like this one! The heavy emotion of Black Heart, mixed with Fallen Angels's solid core? It was, without a doubt, the awesomest experience of my life!" The reporter and the tall, dark guy were in a studio somewhere, reporting the rock news.
The opening act of the awards ceremony was at the top of their list, aside from the release of over four-hundred private videos of Black Heart and Bree over the years. The performance, though, was leaving everyone talking about Black Heart and Fallen Angels.
"I heard they killed it!" Chad said, "Doing the interviews is a lot of waiting behind the scenes, not actually getting to watch anything. I attempted to get an interview, before the bands went on, but Bree took off and he went after her.... Bree, babe, you can call me any time that Ash doesn't make the cut."
Chad winked at the camera, but Margo, the other reporter, shook her head with a knowing smile.
"Oh, I highly doubt that there's trouble in THAT paradise."
"I did hear that it was the best performance showcase in over a decade," Chad rubbed his hands together in anticipation, "Let's check it out. I'm dying to see it."
When the clip played, the stage was dark, but on stage was Black Heart, all of them dressed in black leather and colored cutoff tees. They all had their heads bowed, as they stood at their instruments, Asher at his mic.
A video began to play on the large screen behind them.
On the video was a close up of Asher, in a black tee, in a black room, his blue eyes staring into the camera.
"Are we on?" He asked.
"Yeah, bro." Chris's voice sounded in the background.
At that he gave a nod and began. "I have to say something, before all of this shit starts tonight. I am not sorry and have no excuses for anything I've done in my past, nor do I need any. It was what it was, so all of you just need to suck it up."
"I will never apologize to any of you for my actions. People knew who I was when they met me, but still chose their path. I don't care what any single person has to has to say about me, but I do care about what you say of my wife and daughter. They now have to deal with the backlash of all of my shit and it's hard to watch them try to be strong through all of this."
"Those two women are so much stronger than they should have to be. I know that some of you talk shit about Bree using me using me, for my money, fame or her own status gain, but this video will prove otherwise."
"My wife is rare. She has a good heart, one that is pure and... Honestly? I don't deserve to be a part of her life. Not before my fame and definitely not after, but, because of her heart, she forgives me. She forgives me without apologies or grievances. She forgives me, not for my money or success, but because she still sees who I was before all of this shit went down. It's as if she can still see a glimmer of who I was supposed to be, before I became who I am today."
"Bree, you always look at me unbiasedly and with a love that speaks volumes. I love you, to you and you and our daughter alone, I will say that I'm sorry. Not because either of you ask me to, because you never would, but because, over everything, you both deserve my apologies. Bree, you gave up everything to give me the future that I squandered, only to fight your battle alone and in silence. You had to see my stupidity every day, as raised our beautiful daughter. For everything that you've done and went through alone, because of me, I say I'm sorry. And DC, you are such an awesome. You are strong, beautiful, kind and smart. Thank you, for taking your mother's approach and seeing past all of the press. So, without further ado, this is for you, doll."
The music began then, as videos payed on the screen and Asher sang his song about entering hell and pulling an angel into the darkness.
The song was slow and dark, as clips of Asher and Bree as teens started on the video screen behind him.
The scenes on the screen quickly cut to Bree, alone and crying in a hospital room, over her newborn baby. Then, morphed to a video taken during the late hours of the night, of Bree dancing in a tiny, dark apartment with a colicky baby. Then more followed...
Bree writing with her guitar in hand and putting it up , to play with her toddler. Declan's fifth birthday, with Bree standing behind her, crying, in their tiny, rundown house. Then, the devastating scene of Bree, crying over the magazine that had highlighted Asher's overdose.
As the video progressed, it moved on to when Declan learned how to ride a bike and the pawn shop, where Bree sold her guitars and had to walk away, in tears, before the sale was final. Then, to the new bed set she was so proud to present to Declan, with the money from the sale.
The video ended, with Asher standing alone on a mountain top, as the rain poured down around him. He looked disheveled and broken.
When his song was finished, Asher bowed his head, face hidden by his hands that rested on the mic.
Every little part of his love was put out there. Everything, for the world to see.
The previously silent audience stood and applauded, but all too soon, the music started again, with a different band behind the beat, one that was stationed to the right of Black Heart.
The tempo was upbeat and Asher lifted his hands above his bowed head, to clap to the beat that Fallen Angels made.
"Watch his face, when she comes out!" Margo snapped, "Don't watch her, watch HIM!"
Bree came out, clad in leather pants and a black top. Tears were streaming down her face, as she attempted to sing those first notes.
The previous sobs over Asher's song and video were evident in her voice, as began those first lines.
Asher's head jerked up and he took one quick look at her, his face then twisted into one of pure anguish and he turned abruptly and moved to stand in front of Jason, at his drum set.
Asher had his back toward the camera and the audience, but it was obvious, with the way his shoulders shook, that he was crying.
"What the fuck?!" Chad shouted, "Ash McGhee is fucking crying?!"
Bree walked over to where Asher stood, in front of his band, as she belted out her tune. She grabbed him by the jaw and pulled his chin toward her, so they were face to face. His profile was now visible to the cameras and audience, with obvious tears streaming down his face.
She gave him a rough kiss and continued on with her song about how she was no angel and wasn't afraid to enter the devil's darkness.
When she reached down and grabbed his junk, Jason let out a howl of laughter and Lou hit the beat hard.
When the song was finished, she began to walk off stage, but before she could move more than a few inches, Asher ran after her.
He twirled her around, into his arms and the look he gave her before he kissed her was earth shattering.
In that one instant, he had devoured her, in front of the entire world.
She was his..
