Bree
I laughed at Asher, as he attempted to leave.
Again...
This time, he had gotten as far as opening the car door, before coming back.
His lips were on mine again, as I laughed.
"You need to go!" I ordered, "Now!"
His head fell back with an exasperated sigh.
"I don't want to," He sounded like a spoiled kid, "I want to stay in... IN bed... IN you... Hell, it doesn't even have to be in bed."
"We have been putting this off since they found out about the engagement. We can't hold them off any longer." I giggled.
It had been three shameless weeks in bed, with random outings to the kitchen for food, movies with DC and visits from our friends.
We had set a date, to be married, very close actually, and everyone was finally forcing us out.
He groaned and I laughed again.
"Jason has been throwing threats," I told him, "Please go, BEFORE they all show up here again."
"What if I waited and we all went out together?" Oh, bless his heart, he was hopeful.
"I have a feeling that they would kidnap you and you would end up naked in the back of a trunk."
The laugh that escaped him was light and carefree, one I had grown accustomed to in the past few weeks. It was still the same laugh of the boy that I had loved.
"The girls were very adamant about NOT seeing all of you tonight," I attempted to be stern with him, "They say it's a bridal party, of sorts."
"UGH! That's why the guys got a room for tonight. Can you imagine? Five guys in one room?"
The thought had me laughing so hard that I couldn't keep my straight face. I attepted to bite my lip, but that didn' help.
Just then, a car pulled up to the gate and a feminine, tattooed arm entered the code, driving through when it opened. I knew that arm now.
"You'd better go, before she busts your ass." I joked.
"I am not afraid of Reegan." He smiled, moving forward to kiss me again, then the shouting began.
"HEY, HEY-HEY! LOVER BOY! MOVE YOUR ASS AWAY FROM HER! SHE'S OURS TONIGHT!" She snapped her fingers and pointed to his car.
"He broke our kiss to smile, a deep Cheshire cat smile, as he seductively whispered, "Lover boy... I like the sound of that."
"You'd better go," I laughed, "She might have a baseball bat."
"Ugh!" He rolled his eyes, "Fine, but I'll be texting you tonight, so keep your phone on!"
He moved toward his car, not looking away from me, "So, hide that shit if you have to!"
"Be safe tonight," I told him, "No fights, please!"
"No promises." He gave a wink before climbing in and speeding down the drive.
Five hours later, I was all dolled up and in a very pink club... Mauve was the name.
"I feel like I'm on display." I sighed.
"Because, you are." Reegan smiled and glanced around the bar.
I was very aware that people around us had their cellphones out and pointed right at me. I guess that was part of the status now. I just had to ignore it.
