Asher

Everyone was seated in the living room when I entered. It looked like they were watching some old, black and white movie.

I guess the guys got bored, waiting around for my ass to do all the preliminary work.

"Don't we look cozy." I rolled my eyes, as I passed the couches.

"Sorry," Cortney snuggled into Jason more, "Ree and I popped the movie in. If you need the guys we can take a raincheck.

I couldn't be mad at Cort. She was one of only three chicks I could trust and the other two were in Cali and Florida. My mother and my maid.

"Nah, you're good." I shrugged and turned to glare at my brother.

"Where's the booze?" At my question, Chris swallowed hard.

"I, uh.. Wasn't able to get anything good."

"I thought you went to that bar yesterday to get some shit?" I'd heard him talking to Ree about in passing.

"I-uh..." He stammered, looking at Ree, "Well..."

"He did go, but they weren't open." Ree shrugged.

No, I knew my brother too well...

He was hiding something...

"I want to hear it from my brother, Reegan." I spoke through clenched teeth.

"Shit... Here we go..." Nick huffed and paused the movie.

Jason shrugged, watching Cortney, who was watching me.

"They weren't open yet, so I made plans to go today, but I got sidetracked."

"Sidetracked?" I gave him an incredulous look, glancing at Reegan on his lap.

"Give me your fucking keys." I opened my hand, waiting as he hesitated. "Come the fuck on, bro. You know I don't have a car here. I'll go into the city and see if I can find a good place, or we'll just have to settle for the sucky shit, but I'm getting my fucking booze."

He looked at Ree again. Only after she shrugged, did he reach into his pocket to to pull out the starter fob.

I grabbed it and headed for the door.

"Can we come?" Chris asked nervously.

"Fuck no!" I snapped, "You all had a chance to go out today, while I was working, and you got high off your asses. I smell the weed."

Fifteen minutes later, I was pulling up to that new bar, Roxy's Tavern.

The neon sign in the window said that they were open and by the look of all the people coming and going, they were making a killing tonight.

"Doesn't exactly look closed now, does it?"

I Shrugged and maneuvered the car to park. If they couldn't order me booze, at least I could drink theirs tonight.

The place was bigger than it looked from the outside. It seemed to wrap around the side to reveal some couches and band equipment.

It seemed very crowded, hopefully I wouldn't run into anyone I knew. I had always hated the people in this town.

The place seemed lively and upbeat though. Nothing like this town was when I was growing up. So, I shouldn't expect to see anyone I knew from back then, but it was a small town after all.

I wedged my way to the bar and was greeted by a guy I was happy not to know.

"Hey! Welcome to Roxy's!" He greeted me with a relaxed smile, checking out my ink, "What's your damage tonight?"
