A and B looked at the cloudy sky's of Copper-9 with a mix of anticipation and uncertainty, neither of them had ever really learned why Copper-9 was so important. It was unique as it was the only planet in the system to be habitable, sharing a similar size to that of earth. But it was marked a mining planet so far away that it seemed odd to both the Higher Ups on why James wanted to keep a strangle hold on it. Perhaps it was secretly a paradise, a tax wrote off maybe even a corporate secret, but neither of them would vocally question James's reasoning.
A's mind wandered to the thought of hunting again, it had been months since she sunk her claws and fangs into a worker... watching the light drain from their eyes. It was sickening to think this way at least part of her thought that. She should have gotten oil before she left... B shouldn't have to see that side of her.
A's eyes showed her concern and to her luck B was fully focusing on the landing process. A knew she had to remain positive even if it hurt her, James wanted this figured out and she knew she wouldn't be given a chance if they failed. She shut her eyes and let out a sigh before returning to her happy demeanor.
A: So what's the status of our landing?
B: It's going well. No complications.
A: ...So anything new with you Blair? Any news from your squad leaders?
B: No. My students are all across the stars and I've barely been able to interact with them.
A: Have some issues with the Company Blair?
B: My opinion of how the company operates is unrelated. I'm just worried that my drones aren't given enough for their hard work. Mr. Elliott stopped giving direct commands months ago and it annoys me that I've had to give little to no updates on what's happening.
A: Well, I'm sure everything will be-
A stopped as she felt the ship starting to shake causing her to quickly grab the side of the chair she was sitting in. B was jolted forward a bit but readjusted herself to keep herself in the chair. Both of the assumed that the shaking meant that the ship was landing though the harsh shaking could be a result of the ship being a prototype.
The ship entered into Copper-9's orbit and was able to enter into the lower atmosphere where it became clear that this mining planet had become a frozen hell hole. The ship lowered itself and while it was bumpy to put it lightly the two drones had prepared for landing which luckily wasn't too bad and not too long after their landing A and B started to make their way off the prototype ship.
A: Copper-9... it looks like a nuclear winter hit the planet... what did the Workers do to this place?
B: From what the reports said it was a core collapse, though I honestly wonder why we didn't just let the cold kill off Workers. It seems like a complete waste of our energy and the talent of my students.
