An Unknown Threat?!

Part 12

The woods of camp 98.7 were quiet which was normal as the population had a major drop off since Copper-9's core exploded. Though the silence was broken by a familiar voice oof a short Worker.

Uzi: Where the hell are they?!

Uzi, J, A, B and Tessa had all been searching for N and V for at least two hours now, it made no sense how they could have disappeared. J knew that the two of them couldn't have left to return to the spire as it was way too far of a flight to make without burning to death and none of the cabins, they had passed showed any signs of the two Disassembly Drones being there.

Uzi: How can they not be here?!

J: Uzi like I said the last twenty times you asked I don't know.

Uzi: It was a rhetorical question.

J: Look Uzi I'm trying my best but I don't know how we can find them.

Uzi: Look can't you find them faster? Like a super secret tracking device.

J: Uzi...

Uzi: Yeah.

J: I hate N and tolerated V... do you think I valued them as friends or work assets?

Uzi: Gonna be honest I'm not even sure why I asked that.

J just shook her head and went back to trying to scan the area, to think the first thing her and Uzi were doing as a couple was looking for N and V. How exciting.

Tessa just let out a yawn and she saw the Worker and Disassembly Drone trying to figure out a thing that seemed impossible. Tessa was sure N and V were fine though she definitely should speed up their progress. Tessa looked down at her heat detector and could immediately tell what the issue was. The weather it was the god damn weather that was causing issues which didn't make sense to her. Cooper-9 was dead but... well if the planet was dead then why were trees still around? Actually how was the temperature even shifting as it was clear that there was a difference from last night to tonight. Did her dad seriously not check if this planet was fully reclaimable?

Tessa: Alright let's find N and V. I'm tired of getting into deep thoughts about how pissed I am at my dad.

A and B looked to Tessa a bit confused as her statement seemed to come out of nowhere but with Tessa that was typically normal.

A: Anything we can do to help?

B: I don't see how we can find them if J can't.

Tessa: Well J is occupied with... that "thing".

B: Tessa be nice J is very fond of her.

Tessa rolled her eyes and brought up her heat detector and saw that she needed a more specific target. Though heat clearly wasn't the right thing to be targeting which meant she needed something else.

Tessa: Hmmmm. Either of you have anything to pick up signals.

B: Uh our heads?

Tessa: Ahhh Blair how I've missed how technologically illiterate you are.

B: I've raised you since you were like 6.

Tessa: And I appreciate everything. Achlys you got anything?

A stayed silent as she was trying to think of something... maybe she could try and reverse the signal that she was hit with. Whoever wanted to meet her was here at least from what I's signal found. A thought about it and figured that at the very least N and V hopefully found whoever that was.
