It was finally time to link up, i was nervous. I was going to be essentially transferring my soul, my being into a different body. Mom said she would be handling the linking for my avatar, help me stay grounded while the link happens. I wasn't complaining, i was happy cause i wanted to spend as time with my mom as i could while i was here. Which in of itself would be difficult with the task we had been given. "Alright Norm your there, Jake your with me, Halo your with your mom." Grace said pointing to link pods, i followed mom and waited for her to open the pod.
"How much lab time have you logged?" She asked, as the pod opened and i hopped in. "Collectively? None what i saw that they needed avatar drivers i just of jumped to it, my guess is they saw my name and let me through." I said, laying down and pulling the whole body wire thing down. "You're just as insane as your brother child." She said with chuckle. She turned around and placed her hand on the lid of the pod. "Just relax and let your mind go blank, thats never been to hard for you." She said closing the pod.
I closed my eyes, and relaxed to the best of my ability. Then i felt it, literally i felt my soul leave my body. "Halo? Halo? Can you hear me?" The scientist asked, flashing a flashlight in my eyes. I smiled, seeing the faces of the scientist infront of me. "Hey there," i said. I raised my hands up infront of me, and though i should have been expecting it... I was blue. The scientist turned away to grab a clipboard, while she was doing that i sat up.
"Woah there, easy now!" She said, trying to get me to slow down. "Im fine, im fine!" I said, trying to wave her off. I stood and looked in what i assumed was a one way mirror. From my side it was reflective, i could see my face. I was blue, very very blue, with big yellow eyes, a nose like a cat, and holy shit! I was tall!

From the other side of the glass i heard my mothers voice trying to persuade me back onto the bed. "No, mom. It's ok i got this!" I said taking the leads off of my body and making a B line for the door. Apparently I wasn't the only one who had this idea, i saw Jake also in his Avatar bolting out the door, Norm trying to run after him. I ran, and it felt like i was running faster than i ever had before. I stopped when i ran face first into the fence. I stood up, taking in my surroundings, everything louder, closing my eyes, i take a deep breath. "Overwhelming isn't it?" a familiar voice asked. I turned and saw a woman who looked much like me, just as as tall and blue. It was my mother's Avatar.

I nodded, trying to get my bearings on the current situation. Mom smiled, kicking her shoe off her foot and tossing it at me. "Think fast!" I dodged it, laughing. Mom laughed to, though she did seem a little pissed off. "Don't you ever run off like that again. You understand me?" She said, grabbing her other shoe to throw at me. "I make no promises mom." I said jokingly, dodging the shoe that was thrown my way yet again. We both laughed, I leaned down to grab moms shoes to hand them back to her. It made me wonder... how did they get clothes and shoes that were able to fit the Avatars.
We walked back to camp, i changed out the hospital gown into normal clothes. I wondered around, getting a feel for my new body. I liked it, i was tall and blue. What's not to love about that? I enjoyed my avatar body more than my human body, I could do more, I felt more safe in this body. There's so much more i can do in this body, a whole lot more. I can run faster, my reflexes are quicker and im more aware of things around me. I have a tail to! When it was time to sleep, all of the Avatars went to this little open hut. There's also this weird braid thing, it had these weird tentacle things at its end. I learned from Norm that its called a queue.

"Hey don't play with those, you'll go blind" Grace said as she walked over to the gate to close it. "Lights out amigo's, see you at dinner." Grace said, the light went out and it went silent. I closed my eye's, relax and let my soul do its thing. Soon enough I was back in my human body, very disoriented. Max was the one who i saw when my link pod opened, he was a cool dude i liked him. "For your first link, you did a damn good job! Nice job Halo!" He said, giving me a high five. I got up from the pod and walk out of the room, wanting to just eat and get to bed.
