Halo

While Kal'el was teaching me the ways of the natives, he was also teaching me the language. I already knew most of it, but i did still need to work on some of it. He was a good teacher, he taught me a lot. I learned a new way of swimming, which took me quite a while to get the hang of. The was more than one occasion when he called me skxqwng... which means moron. My mom was starting to act weirder and weirder, she was becoming less interested in anything that had to do with anybody around her and became more focused on her work.

It was understandable, she was a scientist and a good one at that. But when i tried to give a report to her she would brush me off like dust on her shoulder. I was starting to think that she really didn't care for me at all, which hurt but just gotta keep on keeping on. Right now Kal'el back around to trying to get a fish, which was going better than last time. "Remember, strong arm." He said, i nodded pulling my arm back and getting ready to shoot.

"Kal'el! My son!" A feminine voice said. I yelped and let go of the arrow which surprisingly went straight though a fish. I grabbed the arrow, the fish coming with it, turned around to show Kal'el. He was talking to an older woman, who seemed to be very gentle and kind as for her male counterpart. He seemed very course and maybe aggressive. "Oh is this the alien you were telling me about?! Oh she is just beautiful!" She said, coming over me and running her arms up and down my shoulders.

I looked back at Kal'el who nodded, and went to talk to the man. "What is your name? I don't want to call you alien all the time." She said, with a a smile on her face. "Halo Rodriguez, and what's your name?" I asked, her smile faltered. Shortly after her smiled returned and she spoke again. "Na'li Te' Mekanei 'Ora 'Ite," She said, looking down at the arrow in my hand. "Very impressive, Sa'tari! Look what our son taught her!" She yelled, getting the man's attention. He motioned for Kal'el to follow him and walked over.

He motioned for me to hand him the arrow, which if this was who i thought it was, I definitely didn't want to piss him off so i complied. He removed the fish from the arrow and looked at the entry and exit mark. He looked at Kal'el and muttered something in Na'vi, which Kal'el nodded gently and muttered something back to him. The man looked back at me, smiled and said. "A clean kill, for one that was made out of fear... very good shot." He said handing me the fish, i took the fish and just stared at him scared absolutely shitless.

"Do you not speak? Eh! When people talk to you, you talk back!" He said, making me jump a little bit. "Sorry sir!" I yelled, turning away a little bit. He seemed to chuckle a little bit, before turning to Na'li and speaking in Na'vi. "She's skittish, yeah. He's gonna have to work that out of her, to much like her mother." He said, a sarcastic looking smile on his face. "Hey! Im an alien, but im not stupid!" I snapped, staring back at him. All three of them looked at me shocked, the man cracked a smile and started laughing. "I knew you had spunk! Maybe you're not as bad as Catilyn!" He bounded, a smile wide on  his face.

"Catilyn? No no, my mothers name is Natalia... not Catilyn." I said, confused. He looked between Na'li and Kal'el, Kal'el shook his gently and the matter was dropped. Na'li and the man left and Kal'el turned to me. With an apologetic look he said. "That was my father, he can be a little intense. He seems to like you though, that's  good he doesn't normally like people he first meets." He said patting my back.

"What about your mother? She seems nice." I said, putting the fish in a bag Kal'el had brought. "She is a sweet woman, she made sure to drill into me that i should not mate with a woman that i am not absolutely sure about." He said, hopping onto Pa'li. I hopped onto mine, and we rode off to go start our next lesson.
