Chapter 8

Yue's pov...

I feel butterflies in my stomach as Kai replied to my message. My heart was beating so fast and my cheeks were getting redder with every message that I got from him.

We discussed over the theme of our project and then, he asked me out of the blue "You like space, right?"

I blinked a few times in confusion. Where did this question come from?

"Umm yeah.. but how do you know?" I queried confused.

"The way you were looking at the night sky after sun set, with that gleam and fascination in your eyes, anyone can tell that." was his reply.

I blushed at this.. he noticed it?

"Then, the theme is decided. Now, we only need to decide what can we do with this theme." He texted.

"Yea" I agreed.

After that, we discussed all the possible topics that we could work on. The sense of time was lost with the feeling of excitement that I was experiencing. I was talking to Kai! And that too for this long!!

We are discussing things about space! It's the best thing that can happen to me right now!

After some time, we finally settled on showing the fascinating wonders of space with the project! Don't know about others but I'm gonna love it!

And now that Kai had mentioned it, I think even he likes space and night sky.

That day, he appeared so relaxed and calm while looking at the sky. And even now, while discussing the project, he seemed to be excited on it.

He knew so many things, legends and facts about space!

We decided to meet next day to collect as much as factual information that we can.

We have to explain the project with accurate facts too, so it should be well examined.

We are meeting next morning and thinking about it made me feel strangely nice.. like I was nervous but excited too. This mixed feeling was calming but unsettling at the same time. I liked it and wanted to embrace it but it made me feel uneasy at the same time.

I lied on the bed awake, shifting and playing the possible conversations we will have tomorrow. All the scenarios in my mind were making me blush. I'll be meeting him tomorrow!!

I tried to sleep but I am not sleepy! I can't stop thinking about numerous possible things that can unfold them tomorrow. There are still some days before the exhibition.. and having the opportunity to interact with Kai make me want that it will last longer than this..

Next morning, I woke up early and got ready. I was glancing at the clock every once in a while but the time was passing too slow.

But even while waiting, I was feeling happy and excited. I was kind of enjoying the wait because on the other end of the wait, is the meeting with Kai..

A subconscious smile curved my lips upward in a dreamy smile as my eyes were staring in nothingness while imagining him sitting right in front of me.

As I was lost in my own dreamland, my phone buzzed with a message notification. I looked at the screen and it showed her name. I pouted. Finally remembered me huh.

We talked for sometime and when I told her about Kai, she got so enthusiastic. I facepalmed at her reaction.

That's when she mentioned a surprise. What's she planning now? I wondered with a sweatdrop.

We had to cut our conversation short as I noticed the time.

I reached the cafe where we had decided to meet and saw that Kai was already sitting there. I blinked a few times to confirm if I wasn't hallucinating.

Kai doesn't bother to show up before time, he is just 'on' time. When I told myself this fact, panic creeped over me!

Am I late?!?! That can't be!! I left home early!!! What will I say??!

I checked the time- huh? I'm... Not late? That means Kai... Is early? That's almost a miracle..

I went to him nervously and he immediately looked up and gave me a small faint smile "Hey."

That smile... My heart skipped a beat when I saw his smile..

"Hii" I returned the smile hoping I wasn't staring for too long at his smile.

He ordered a coffee and I ordered a coffee milkshake. We sat there as we showed each other all the facts and information that we have gathered for the project.

As we talked about it, some girls approached him time to time but he didn't show any interest. He was so indifferent to them and even ignored a couple of them.

I felt special at that time while sitting with him as he paid attention to me and listened carefully to everything that I had to say.

After discussing everything through and deciding over what we will do, the next thing was to buy the things that we will need for it.

He offered to call car in case I wouldn't want to walk but I insisted on walking. We spent out rest of the day walking through the streets and buying all the things.

Then, he offered to walk me home even after I told him that I can go home myself.

So, when we reached home, I was adamant to let him go without coming inside. He finally gave in and came inside.

Mother was sitting in the drawing room when we entered. She looked up from what she was doing.

But that's when, something surprisingly unexpected happened.
