Chapter 15

Yue's POV

The next day, all I could think about was Kai.. I tried messaging him but he didn't even check them. Seems like he is too busy..

At noon, we went for shopping for tomorrow and really, it was so difficult but fun to make Kiara try all those dresses. She was so ready to run away from the mall any moment. Hehehe even now, I can't stop laughing.

And that poor sales girl.. she mistakenly asked 'Kiara' if she would like that dress and Kiara was already so pissed with the shopping that she took it out on her.

Then we went to have ice cream! It was nice to have such peaceful time with them.

But suddenly, Maira got a message and she.. just left? She doesn't even know people here then what was that?

The day was overall good.

I was watching television when my phone buzzed with a message. I immediately checked it in hope that it's from him.. well it was from Kiara.

She has a function to attend and was asking if I could join her. Indeed, she doesn't like any social function. Well that's Kiara for you.

I didn't have anything better to do, so I agreed.

After getting ready, I went with her to where the function was.

There were many people there, some were chatting with each other, some were near refreshments while some were busy with their phones.

As expected, Kiara was bored soon and thought to take a stroll around so I also went with her. When we turned around a corner, I missed her.

Where did she go?? She was here just now!

I looked around and stopped in front of the stairs. Might she have gone up there?

I went up and opened the door. Before me was a beautiful rooftop. Maybe she might be here? It looks like her kind of place..

I started to look around, only to see Kai standing there.

The moment I saw him, my heart skipped a beat.. I took a step backward to return but he turned around and looked at me.

"Hey.." he said nervously running his hand through his hair.

"Hey.." I replied with a strange nervous feeling. I was happy but.. I don't know how to describe it..

"I'm really sorry for not telling you.." he said.

"It's fine.." I said.

After a few moments of looking at each other with an awkward silence, he extended his hand towards me with a small smile.

I looked at him and then at his hand unsure. Then I put my hand in his and he lead me to the front.

The town was lit up with lights and it looked almost magical to see the illuminated buildings before us.

The cool breeze was so comfortable and calming as we looked at the scene before us.

I felt him looking at me so even I turned towards him. He was still looking guilty... Then he gestured me to look back towards the front. As I turned, within some seconds, all lights went off at the same time.

Huh?

I looked at him confused as he smiled softly but that smile was not that happy one that I used to see.. it lacked something..

I turned back and soon, some buildings again started to lit up again, leaving the other one still in dark.

Within a minute, the scene in front of me surprised me like anything!

Everything was dark except some lights were on, writing 'SORRY' on the whole town...

My lips curled up into a smile on their own as I turned to Kai who was looking at me expectantly..

Without a second thought, I just hugged him, muttering "It's fine, I forgive you!"

"After hearing my answer only, he hugged me back, holding me there tightly.

We stayed like that for sometime and I was feeling the safest at that time..

I loved that secure feeling.

After sometime, we pulled away and I asked him expectantly "So... You will be coming tomorrow right?"

"Why? What's tomorrow?" He asked with a playful look on his face and I hit him childishly, pouting.

He chuckled and replied "If I am invited, that is."

"Nope! Why would I invite someone who has to do the preparations?" I said with a small smile.

"Indeed." He smiled.. yea! Now that's his real happy smile! When did the Great Kai Hiwatari lost his skills to hide his emotions? I mentally giggled at this.

We spent out time talking there and it felt like finally a weight has been taken down from both of us.. he appeared more light and free while even I was feeling relaxed after finally talking to him.

Later, when we went downstairs, I saw both, Kiara and Maira there.

"You both..?" Understanding hit me as I looked between the trio, getting what was going on between them.

"So, it did work!" Maira said happily grinning and then turned to Kai glaring "But I'm gonna kill you if you ever again give me such a task at such a short notice!"

"Sure, I would like to see you try." Kai said with a smirk while still holding my hand.

Maira pouted "Sis, what did you like in this guy?!"

I sweatdropped. How did I come in between this?

"The things that you lack, including common sense. Ever heard of it?" Kai said calmly.

I giggled. They are gonna keep going for quite sometime now.

The day was great! Though with the amount of calls and messages they were getting, I guess I better be careful tomorrow.

Who knows if they are surprises or shocks.. I wondered, while watching them either scolding someone of call, or threatening them..
