"No one's there."

I jolt when I hear Bright's voice. He squints his eyes at me at my surprised state.

"Nice. So you were here daydreaming in this kind of a situation?" he complains.

"Well, I was thinking about several things. What else am I supposed to do??" I ask.

"Stay alert?"

"You should try and stay back, waiting for your partner. It sucks." I stuck out my tongue at him.

"Sometimes you are so annoying," he comments, not seriously, while making his way downstairs. I follow him.

"You aren't the first to say that. I come with pros and cons. So you better be aware."

"I got it. Let me consider and tell you."

Bright walks to the first floor in search of the other two. Then the ground floor after the first. But he fails to find them there.

"Fourth floor it is," he says.

"Yeah. Let's head upstairs."

We walk upstairs with Bright in front of me, and I notice a slight limp as he walks. So I walk up to him and keep my hand on his shoulder.

"Did something happen to your right leg?" I ask, looking at it.

"Yeah. When I kicked a zombie, it left an impact on my leg. But it'll go away soon."

"You sure?" I ask.

"Yes, of course."

Bright goes to the fourth floor, leaving me by the stairway. And I wait for him patiently. After a while, he pokes out his head.

"I cleared out this floor, remember?" he asks.

"Oh god, yeah! Let me join you." I quickly say, remembering this floor doesn't have any zombies because Bright killed them before. As we walk on the corridor, Bright stops in front of the washroom we used before.

"Sanitary first. I am going to brush my teeth. Do you want to-"

"Hell, yeah!" I exclaim, totally forgetting that we are supposed to look for Nani and Joss.

So Bright takes me to the washroom we used last time. We brush our teeth in front of the mirror for long minutes until we are satisfied.

I stretch my hands and display my teeth in front of the mirror. It feels so good.

"I always wondered whether the protagonists in movies brushed their teeth. I mean in those action and thriller movies. They seem to spend months without brushing their teeth, but I guess they do. The directors don't show it. But it always bothers me because the couple even kiss. If they don't brush their teeth. That's low-key a crime." I blabber.
