"I see you're all into this yule ball," Draco drooled, holding up the flyers and tossing them aside. "Must be quite the party, I suppose..."

I gritted my teeth and side-eyed him. "What do you want, Draco?"

"Why have you been ignoring me?"

"Why haven't you left me alone?" I retorted, shoving a flyer at him. My finger gripped the edge of the note board. He furrowed his eyebrows, obviously offended. Yet another attempt at getting my attention.

Draco sat down opposite me, loosening his tie. I watched his hands; the signet ring on his finger sparkled in the light. A small family crest is engraved on the front with his initials. It looked almost new, apart from the tiny scratch on the left side. Draco's fingers still looked all picked at, and he pulled them under the table.

"Has anyone asked you for their date yet?" Draco quizzed, leaning further back into his seat. His cocky attitude blew me away. I couldn't find any other person so irritating in my life.

With irritation shining through me, I turned to face him and asked, "No, and why do you care?"

"Curiosis, I wondered if anyone could withstand a night with you." He provoked me, trying his best to push my buttons. I'm fairly used to his games now and his little childish hits. It didn't phase me, not much more than it did before.

"Why does everything have to be such a struggle with you, Draco?" I sighed, rummaging around for my pen. I must have dropped it; I never seemed to stop losing things.

Draco cocked his head. "My father wants me to bring a date; he says it's important to pick someone who has higher status."

"So, go with Pansy; isn't she your girlfriend?" I bluntly stated, now looking frantically for the stupid pen. Draco cringed and looked over at Pansy, who waved like an idiot.

"No," Draco affirmed, unbuttoning his first button. "She's too well known, and not for the right things."

I stopped looking for a moment, pulling the hair from my face. He looked down at me with the same hungry eyes as before. Draco's stormy eyes would cause any girl to swoon. However, they looked rather sad and dull. He showed much more emotion than anger, annoyance, and greed.

"I really don't understand what's going on with you sometimes, Draco."

"Well, Aurora, if you'd just talk to me more, maybe then you'd know more."

"I'll pass, thanks," I said, standing up and looking beneath my feet. The pen was nowhere; it couldn't have just disappeared. It had to be around here somewhere.

Draco fake smiled and placed his hand under his chin. "Why don't we just have a friendly conversation? Try and speak out our differences?"

"Stop being so un-Draco-like; it's making me feel gross," I chuckled, sitting back down and flipping through my notes.

"I'm trying to be nice," he gritted, his eyes blinking. I blinked at him and reminded myself that this was just bipolar Draco. He was obviously having a daily identity crisis. I wasn't interested one bit in 'Draco being nice'.

I huffed and folded my arms. "Yeah, well, maybe nice just doesn't suit you."

Draco stood up and stormed off, my pen being the only thing left behind. He was confusing, very hot-headed, and extremely beautiful. Of course, I had some part of me that was interested. I should have stayed uninterested.

I finished up my work and headed straight to the Commons. My eyes were heavy, and my body was way too overtired. I watched the snake curve over before entering, only to be met with a crowd of students. The Bulgarian girls are being asked by the Slytherin boys, and vice versa.

Valentine laid about with his group of friends. They all chatted along with each other. I waved to him, and he bobbed his head back. Hanuel waved over at me, blushing. I returned it, slumping down in front of the fireplace.

"So, Aurora, got a date yet?" Hanuel inquired, and he scooted over to me. His arm stretched over the back of the couch. I shook my head and gazed into the green flames.

My schoolgirl crush on him was burning to a brim. It wasn't that I no longer found him attractive; rather, something else was puzzling my mind. I looked over at the gorgeous eyes; something in me was no longer sparking.

"I was thinking, maybe you and I."

"She's already got a date," A familiar voice injected, and I whipped around sharply. "He's not one for people getting in his way."

Blaise Zabini hunched over on a chair, a book in his hands. He had a dead-pan look on his face. I darted my eyes around the room. I haven't said yes to anyone. Was this a weird joke I wasn't in on? I looked over at Hanuel, who seemed to retreat from me.

Draco entered the room, his chest out with cockiness. As my blood boiled, I bit my lower lip with such force that it began to bleed. I stood partly, storming over to Draco and dragging him over to the corner of the commons.

"Do you think this is funny? Telling everyone I agreed to go with you? You haven't even asked, and might I add that if you did, never in a hundred years would I have gone with you?"

"Well, now no one else will," Draco interrupted, holding my mouth shut and whispering lowly, "If I were you, I'd be a good girl and play along."
