Draco lazily sighed, stacking potion bottles onto the shelves. He stretched his arms, revealing the bottom of his torso. I gazed over, not helping myself; he was an attractive person. However, he was also a self-centred asshole. I counted the levels of potion ingredients—the exact number they had always been.
"How'd you know that curse?" Draco inquired, balancing on the ladder. He wobbled a bit before placing another jar on the highest shelf.
I huffed and continued counting. Forgiveness was never my strongest suit. Come to think of it, it was as if I didn't have many strong suits. Only potions and balancing books on my head. I had a knack for being proper at a fine dining table. Thanks to my mother, she trained me to be the perfect wife.
A pureblood witch thing. Her parents had the same, perfect children. With perfect smiles, perfect manners, and perfect liars. Draco seemed to be the same, but more racist and more pureblood supremacist. What loving families we purebloods have!
"Hello," he waved, wobbly again on the ladder. "I'm talking to you, Nitwit."
"My apologies; I thought a ferret was squeaking." I smiled sarcastically, my eyes rolling and gazing down at the number sheet.
"Well, answer the question."
"My mother; told my brother and me about them when we were younger. Happy now?" I answered truthfully, my eyes dropping. He kept his gaze on me, stepping down from the ladder. I watched as he sat across from me and rested his head on his palm.
Draco was a strange person; I'm beginning to think he had bipolar or a mood disorder. Maybe Ella was right; his bleach had gone to his head. He peered over at me as I counted, his eyes following my fingers.
"Are you close with your family?" He spoke up, Draco's eyes falling to his fingers. He picked at the edges of his nails, which I noticed had become scared and bloody. Something he finally didn't have that wasn't perfect.
"Yes," I bluntly stated, picking up a load of marbles. "You seem very curious today?"
"You seem very mysterious," he muttered, looking up from his nails through his eyelashes. "Why have I never seen you around till now?"
"Maybe you just don't notice people if they aren't in your little cult." My words were sharp, and my tongue was like a paper cut. He shook his head at me and pointed a finger.
Draco rummaged in his mind to justify himself: "No, that's not true; you popped up and haven't gone away."
"I'm not a siren; I'm not pulling you towards me," I joked, but his gaze remained dull. His eyes had no sense of joy behind them. The circles around them reminded me that he must be a light sleeper.
"No, you're intoxicating; you're like smoke; you come and fill my lungs," he said, with a sharp tone. "I can't get you out of my head; it's that annoying voice of yours."
"It seems like you've got a crush, Draco." I rolled, my head turned, and counted five more jars of marbles. He turned his head and shook it quickly. Shuttling down the comment quickly, I looked over at him with a sigh.
Draco scoffed. "No, my parents would hate you; you're so flawed and unlike them."
"I didn't say your parents did," I stated in a matter-of-fact tone. I held back from laughing. He was being ridiculous and overly weird. I was just pushing his buttons, which was easy to do.
"I think you are the most conceited, unbearable person here," he gritted, standing from his seat and knocking down a jar. It smashed as it hit the floor, making me jump. I felt a quick rise in my fuse; it was a burning wick at two ends.
I stood and picked up the shards. "You have a temper issue; have you ever thought of therapy?"
Draco looked down at the shards in my hands. He squatted them away, brushing my palm. I watched him pick up his wand and collect them into a pile. Shaking his head at me and huffing out his frustration.
"You're the most idiotic person I've ever met," he insulted, placing the shards in the bin. I sat back down. I wasn't afraid of cutting myself. The pain never bothered me at all; a little cut wouldn't kill me.
Snape walked in, interrupting the next insult I was about to throw. He gazed down at the both of us, examining us like little animals. I swallowed down any spit that formed in my mouth. Snape checked over my numbers; of course, there were missing numbers; once again, Draco had done it.
"You two are the most stupid students I've got." Snape insulted through his teeth, pulling out a small piece of paper. "Next Friday, I expect you to both receive something valuable from each other; return it to me."
"Sir, I don't understand. How is stealing a punishment?" I questioned his absurd way of punishing; he was the most strange out of all the professors. Snape tutted, running his finger along his nose.
"Not martial, words; I want words," Snape scoffed, making it notice we had smaller minds than him. "I want you to find something out about each other; hopefully, this will end your stupid rivalry."
Snape picked us up once again by the collar and threw us out. Draco glared at me and shoved his hands into his pockets. I stood almost chest to chest with him, heaving in the air around me. Draco looked down upon me, his eyes like snakes. His breath was just as harsh as my own.
"Happy now, Malfoy? You've got all the intoxicating smoke-filled time with the siren." My words were jeering, making it apparent that my distaste for his company was very well known. Draco shrugged and smirked slightly; it made my shoulders twitch.
"Just peachy," he taunted, turning away from me. "I just can't wait to spend so much time around you, Aurora."

Hello there my love,
I just realized that my author's notes should be in bold. My bad cut.
Anyway, I hope someone is out here enjoying this book ;) I'd also love to know what country you're from. I find if wild that people from another country could be reading this.
I also might add, although it is very shitty. I do have another book, which is related to this one called teenage dirtbag. A lot of the characters and plot are intertwined. I'm tryna start a series-type thing here, just gimme hot minute (another 5 years) and I'll get it all up :)
Love you,
Pinky <3
