Spit formed in my mouth, and I gulped it down. No, I hadn't made the choice; I was born into it. But I couldn't really explain my family's origins to him. No, he wouldn't understand at all. He was, of course, the son of a death-eater. I was the daughter of a blood witch who believed in the supremacy of his kind.

"I suppose so," I lied through my teeth, smiling up at him. When I said I would be happy to see anyone, even him, I was more glad it was him now.

If my punk friend Ella had shown up, I would have fated and called it quits. But Draco had liked a mindless He knew the exact feeling of having supremacist parents. Even if he was a so-called "pure-blood supremacist" of his own,

"I didn't know you lived here," he said, slipping past the crowd. I held firmly to his arm, my looming anxiety disappearing.

"Well, you don't actually know a lot about me," I chuckled. No one knew much about me. In fact, as of recently, I didn't know much about myself. possessing an ancient source of magic and being born into a supremacist family.

Not much at all.

"Come, you must meet my mother and father," he boasted, walking with haze towards a stark blonde man. Draco injected himself into his conversation, stepping aside so I could be seen.

I gave a half-assed smile; the imitation in his family's gaze overwhelmed me. The man, who looked much like his son, held a cane in his left hand. His mother, I was guessing, had a beautiful set of deep oak eyes.

She was far more beautiful than her husband. Draco is obviously taking after her angelic beauty. She held out a hand for me to shake, which I took politely. His father only peered down at me, his eyes that same storm grey as his son.

"You must be, Aurora," she chimed, admiring my dress. "I've heard lots about you, my dear."

"Father, this is Aurora Waterhorse," Draco interrupted his mother. He anxiously pordded at his finger. I noticed his mother's eyes downcast when he did so. She squatted her hands away and remained staring at me.

"Ah yes, I presume you're finding yourself acquainted here," his father stated, gripping the end of his cane. "Lucius Malfoy, and this is my wife, Narcissa."

"Pleasure, sir," I curstled. I hoped that he would spring into conversation. Luckily, he didn't; he turned away to continue talking with another man. Narcissa, however, was thrilled to talk.

I sat for an hour, talking and gossiping with her. She reminded me of my own mother. Her smile was wide and generous. She had a motherly gaze when she looked at her son. Draco disappeared halfway through, wondering off to mingle.

"Have you enjoyed staying here?" She questioned, taking a bite of her food. I nodded, hoping she wouldn't see through the facade. My eyes, however, told her the truth, or maybe she would just be good at spotting a lie.

Narcissa siped from her glass, the plum lipstick staining it. "I should send Draco up here, seeing as we live only a short drive away."

"That would be wonderful." My mother suddenly chimed in, her hands pinching my cheek. "Aurora has most likely gotten sick of her brother; you can only keep two siblings together for so long."

They both had lives of their own, so my talk rapidly evolved into a mum's gathering. I sagged a little and peered down at the lengthy table. All people with dark appearances welcomed Valentine inside. He seems to have discovered a voice to speak with for the first time.

He babbled on about how good a student he was. I gave him an innocent glare while jealousy erupted inside of me. My fingers firmly grasped the knife's tips. Naturally, he was the only male heir and the next in line for the family name. However, I couldn't help but experience a tiny bit of envy.

"Are you feeling alright, Aurora?" My mother asked, petting my head. I shook my head and faked a small frown. Anything to get out of here? I could just return to my bed and hide away.

Narcissa hit Draco's shoulder. "Maybe Draco should take you for some fresh air?"

Draco stood up, brushing down his suit. He took me by the hand and excused us both. From the corner of my eye, I watched my father's head turn. He gazed over at me, his hands remaining tucked under his chin.

'Ass hat, fucking creep'

Draco walked around the gardens with me. He remained in a perfect silence; only the sound of a hooting owl could be heard. I didn't try to start a conversation; in fact, I hoped he wouldn't either. I could only keep replaying the conversation on top of the Astromany Tower.

We hadn't lived different lives at all. It seemed as if we had been walking on the same tight rope. He was now a complete pull, someone I could latch onto. I no longer had my friends to tell me about this either.

For the past week, I have been alone with my own head. I needed a cure, and Draco was that cure.

"Draco, can you stay here for a while?" I asked, removing the silence between us. He came to a halt, turning towards me. His hands were picking at each other again.

Draco looked around the garden, coming to terms with his answer, "What of your work? Father said you had important businesses to attend to too."

He didn't know.

He didn't know how great of a threat I was being made into. He didn't know that I was going to be presented to Lord Voldemort. My entire life was shaped into only being made to be used.

Maybe it was better if he hadn't known. If I was kept secret from him, For now, I could just enjoy having someone around. A person who wouldn't judge me for my family lineage. Someone who could understand and maintain the presence of my father

"Well, yes," I started, grabbing ahold of his hand once more. "But everyone needs a friend in this manor, and between you and me, I'd much rather you over the maids."

He chuckled, an innocent act. "I guess so; I'll speak to my father about staying for the summer then."

A/N:

Hey,
What's happening? I just wanted to say, I would like to thank anyone who is reading this book. Now also, this is all written in advance, so currently Im technically on chapter 59. So I am slowly releasing chapters, because I find that it's way less stressful on me.

Just a little bit about me, if y'all care that is lol. But I am seventeen and I work a full time job (9-5) and on top of that I have to complete my HSC (High school certification).

I am Australian, hence the HSC, but I'm completely that online whilst doing a traineeship full time. Moral of the story, i am a busy gal...

So, some of the chapter may have authors notes, others won't. It'll all depend on. how busy i am. That also means that, I will check comments and get back to people when i can, I am just a busy person!

Hope that all makes sense!

I love you,
Pinky <3
