"Good that Rita Skeeter is right, git," Layla moaned as she held the daily prophet in her clutched hands. The whole group sat together in the courtyards in an odd oval shape. I laid back along Elizabeth's lap; she plaited the bottom of my hair.

Colson scoffed and ripped the paper into his hands. "Harry Potter, the Triwizard champion, has recently become a relationship boy, pulling Hermione. Oh, this is rubbish; clearly, she has nothing better to write about!"

I pulled the paper towards me—the photos of Harry and Hermione talking outside in Hogsmeade. I felt bad for them, even if I wasn't close to him at all. I rarely talked to him; if lucky enough, we'd have to speak when Elizabeth stopped him in the hall.

"Alright, bottoms up, lads," Layla exclaimed, pulling out three big bottles of pumpkin juice. "Stole it myself; no need to thank."

"I'll take one if you will, please." Luna sang, pulling away from her own magazine. We all watched as she chugged it down and then laughed as she burped loudly after.

I took a sip but pulled the same face of disgust. My mouth squeezes tight at the sweetness overload. I quickly handed it to Elizabeth, who gladly took down the rest. We all laughed and enjoyed the soft evening breeze. Gossiping about the latest Hogwarts news

"Did you know that your brother has been caught four times in one month stealing from Moody's classroom?" Layla laughed loudly, pulling apart her freshly baked apple muffins.

I laughed and covered my eyes. "I still have no idea how we are even related!"

"I heard you've got a secret admirer. Miss sleeping beauty!" Colson chimed, knitting away furiously at a bright orange scarf. He was surprised to even think someone could admire me. I was, in fact, also very surprised.

"No who?"

"Well, if I knew, it wouldn't be called a secret admirer," Colson bluntly stated, his sassiness beaming. "Plus, it's probably some second year."

I hummed, not paying any more attention to the matter. No one has shown much interest in me, apart from the people I didn't want to. Draco Malfoy has spent nearly every day trying in any way possible to get us both into trouble. I've loaded up more in three weeks than I would have in a lifetime.

On the matter of him, I had another to serve in ten minutes. Standing quickly, I kissed them all goodbye, all except Luna, who had pumpkin juice splattered everywhere. Walking down the corridors and the winding stairs My heart rate thumped at a stupid side project Snape had given me.

"Ah, Miss Waterhorse, glad to see you're just a minute late," Snape snapped, gazing effortlessly at the clock on the wall.

Draco's smug smile was enough to make me want to throw him into the clock. I sat down at the desk opposite him, ignoring any glares or odd looks. Snape stood in front of me first, his hand reaching out for me to speak. I cleared my throat and stammered.

"Well, then, what is something you've found about Mr. Malfoy?"

"Well, he, um," I stuttered on my words; I should have rehearsed, "He picks at his fingers; it's a horrible habit, and it's the only thing that isn't perfect."

Draco raises his eyes, hiding his hands in his pockets. With a shocked look on his face, he looked almost confused. I looked over and shrugged at him. The sun hit his skin, and he smiled over at me. Once again, I felt intoxicated by it. It was like being addicted to cocaine. His smile was mixed with the strongest gin.

"And you, Mr. Malfoy?" Snape turned, and his gaze seemed less harsh on Draco. Draco slowly took his gaze off me; his eyes still felt like they lingered.

Something in me wished for his gaze to last a moment longer. Just so I could see the speckles of a grey storm. I looked at him, my whole focus intently on him. He would most likely say something stupid. But he remained silent, only staring straight at Snape.

'Say something'

"Aurora likes to read; she likes it when it's cold; and she likes being alone." He stopped and glanced over for a mere second. "She does this thing where she thinks and pulls a weird face."

He went on for a minute, listing off things even I never noticed. Snape had to stop him; he obviously couldn't handle it. I was gobsmacked and left the room gobsmacked when Snape dismissed us. Draco clutched onto my wrist before I could walk in the opposite direction.

"Don't think this makes us friends." He spat, his bottom lip shaking. "If anything, I know you better than yourself; how pathetic?"

"Shove off Malfoy," I retorted, pulling away from him. "And stop following me around you, fucking weirdo; go back to sitting with your little pesty group of snotty-nosed idiots!"

He took a step back from me, holding onto his hands. I looked down at his bleeding fingers and picked up his hand. He had made a deep scar that seeped blood. He cringed, flipping his hand out of mine. It became a wrestling match for his hand, which he ended up losing.

"Why do you do this to yourself?"

"Fuck. Off."

"You've got it all, Draco—the money, the family, the friends, even the fucking popularity—what else could you possibly have?" I questioned him deeper, prying at him, deepening the mood.

Draco hissed, pulling his hand into his pocket. "For you to fuck off out of my head, get out of my life; you're like a disease!"

"I didn't ask for you to follow me around," I spat, gritting my teeth at him. "Maybe you've got some weird issues in that fucked head, but clearly you don't understand that you've been following me!"

Draco stammered; he had been offended. I called out and was told that he was the problem for once. He has not been lifted up and praised for his actions. I despised him and wished he would just disappear and not come back.

"You're a filthy mutt!"

"Yeah, and you're a fucking pest!"

We walked and kept up with the insults. People stared at us, and a group of French girls nearly knocked over as he walked through them. Draco Malfoy was stubborn, and he never lost. Never in his life has he ever lost a battle. He was witty and smart, but he lacked one thing I had.
