The bell for the last period had rung about forty minutes before, but Hyunjin had no intention of leaving the library desk he was seated at. He returned to work on an assignment that had to be submitted by 12 a.m. that night and would not be completed if he went home early. He had an 8 p.m. shift at a nearby diner, so he was rushing through his task, but using more force on his hand only made it tougher for him. Working two jobs is why he was late submitting the work in the first place. But he can't complain because he had bills to pay. He wasn't a poor student; with a 3.8 CGPA for a Chemistry student, he was doing very well; however, the trouble began when he wanted to live alone; his parents refused to pay for him, forcing him to work two jobs. It's not like it didn't have an impact on his studies; he nearly missed an A+ due to oversleeping and not arriving on time for class, but because he knew the professor from that class, he got by by pleading with him.

He pushed enter to send the email to his professor after finishing it, and the only thing left was to present the reports to the professor. He silently pushed back his chair and stretched his aching arms before packing his belongings and exiting the library. Even though it was just 7 p.m., the librarian was fast asleep. The hall was quiet, but the library was entirely silent because there were only a few students left. While walking through the corridors, Hyunjin checked the time on his phone; it was dead quiet and the lights were dim near the faculty office. He knocked on the door before being told to come in.

"Hwang Hyunjin...." The professor turned his chair and took his hands off the computer.

"Hello, professor. I sent you the mail I'm just here to drop the physical reports." Hyunjin handed him the file he was carrying.

"Yeah...I got it a little while ago."

"I'm sorry for submitting it this late." Hyunjin scratched the nape of his neck.

"Hmmm..." The professor said with his eyes on the computer. "Hold on a minute while I enter your data."

Hyunjin simply nodded and stood beside the desk, his hands tightly gripping the bag strap. It took a while to enter the data, and Hyunjin was growing impatient because he had places to be. To keep himself occupied, he looked around the office. Even though the professor had taught them analytical chemistry, his office was devoid of it. It appeared to be a history class. Hyunjin remained silent and examined everything on the shelves; what puzzled him was the massive clock on the right wall. For a brief while, Hyunjin mistook the second hand for an anticlockwise movement. He shook his head and looked again, but everything seemed okay.

"You okay?" The professor said without taking his eyes off the monitor.

"Yes? Oh, yes. Sorry about that, I thought there was a fly." Hyunjin bowed in a sorry manner.

"Here you go. You'll be graded the same way." The professor returned his file to him. Hyunjin thanked him and bowed once more before exiting the room. He dashed towards the exit, stuffing everything into his backpack; it was nearly 8 p.m.

Fortunately, he arrived before 8 p.m. The diner was filled because it was a Friday night, and folks were out with their friends and family while Hyunjin was at work. He didn't have anyone to hang out with because all of his close friends were in various towns or countries.

As the clock struck 11 p.m., the diner began to empty; the only individuals remained were those who had just left work or who lived alone. Hyunjin sighed as he shifted his weight onto the cleaning mop, exhausted by everything. Even while his life appeared to be hectic, it was actually quite uninteresting. He wasn't unattractive or anything; in fact, he was rather handsome and attractive, but he couldn't find the time to date. His peers from other departments would crush on him, thinking he was a cold-hearted person, but the lad had no time at the moment. He didn't want to live like this either; he fantasized about abandoning everything, dropping out, and going to live in the woods. That, however, was not going to happen anytime soon.

He sighed again before returning to work; he didn't have time to squander. As his shift ended, the diner was also empty, so his colleague assisted him in closing the gates before going. They said goodbye before parting ways; it was nearly 1 a.m. and Hyunjin still had to catch the bus. Fortunately, the following weekend he wouldn't have to get up early for school.

Hyunjin was so exhausted that as soon as his back was laid on the bus seat, he fell asleep. That is, until the bus driver awakened him up and informed him that the bus had reached its destination. When Hyunjin checked the time, it was nearly 3 a.m. He cursed himself and exited the bus, heading into the unknown. The night was getting cold, but he didn't have anything to keep him warm. He looked at the map to see where he was and mentally facepalmed when he saw he was 20 kilometers from home. It was impossible to catch a bus, and taking a cab would be really expensive. He glanced at the map to find a place to stay the night, but all of the hotels were quite pricey, that is until he spotted a cheap hotel nearby. He approached the building, which appeared to be dilapidated, as he had expected. But he couldn't complain because the situation was entirely his fault.

When the warm water touched his skin, he forgot about everything and just enjoyed the moment. He closed his eyes after taking a shower and lying on the bed, which was surprisingly nice. His hair needed to be dried, and he was starving, but he didn't have any energy left. That is, until he heard a knock on the door.

"Room service!" A male voice shouted from the other side.

'Room service? I don't remember calling them. Also in this hotel?' Hyunjin said to himself before getting up from the bed and opening the door. A tall guy probably in his mid twenties was standing in front of him with a trolley.

"I didn't call anyone." Hyunjin said.

"It's free, sir." The guy smiled to which Hyunjin just mumbled and let him inside.

The guy did a thing or two and left a few snacks as Hyunjin was busy falling asleep just standing.

"Have a nice stay." He was so startled by the man's departure that he instantly shut the door and hopped on the bed. It was surprising that the guy left some nice-smelling candles. Hyunjin was feeling intoxicated to himself as he reached for his phone and noticed the clock on the table.

"Oh? I didn't see this before." He said before touching it

"What the hell? It turning anticlockwise as well?" He chuckled. "I didn't drink though." He mumbled before falling into a deep slumber.

When Hyunjin woke up his body felt heavy and the room he was in seemed unfamiliar.

'Did the ceiling look like this?' he said to himself slowly opening his eyes.

"Are you awake?" An unfamiliar female voice spoke beside him.

"Who are- WTF happened to my voice?!" He almost shouted.

"He's up!!!! Young master is up!!!!
