Hyunjin followed Elyot as they were both
guarded by Elyot's aide, Enzo. Enzo was a member of the Beauvarlet knight guild and was chosen as Elyot's aide and swordsmanship teacher when Elyot was only six and Enzo was twenty. Enzo didn't say much, but he was quick-witted, so he kept an ear out for the young guys. While Elyot appeared to be overjoyed from his trip to market, he attempted to strike up a discussion with Hyunjin, but Hyunjin remained uninterested. He was more interested in the market, which appeared to be very different from what he was used to seeing as a market. The more they moved, the more shocked he grew. Elyot didn't have much to buy and was almost done shopping, however Hyunjin couldn't locate anything he needed. Even though Elyot had stated that he would pay for Hyunjin, he couldn't commit to anything.

Soon after, they went to a restaurant for lunch; it was the most upscale restaurant Hyunjin had ever visited. He was afraid to eat in front of so many people because he still hadn't learned the aristocratic table manners, so he bought himself something simple to eat. Elyot was preoccupied with how he had the best boar meat somewhere and that if Hyunjin was interested, he could take him there one day to sample the delicacy. Hyunjin was still not used to the cuisine offered there; his taste buds, which were accustomed to spicy, flavorful, and savory foods, considered the meal there to be rather bland. He completed his stew and left his seat to use the restroom; before the restroom, there was a special area for VIPs, which Hyunjin could see from the outside. As he was leaving the restroom, the VIP room gate opened, and an easterner strolled out in front of him, much to his astonishment. He barely gave him a brief glance before walking out, followed by another person his age, possibly in their early twenties. He appeared incredibly pale, and his black attire made him appear much whiter. Hyunjin was pleased to see a westerner for the first time, but he couldn't leave Elyot behind, so he merely strolled till the person left the restaurant.

"What took you so long, are you okay?" Elyot inquired as soon as Hyunjin returned to the table. Hyunjin only nodded in agreement. They left for the Croix mansion after lunch to avoid getting too late and arriving home before sunset. Throughout the ride, Hyunjin was solely reminded of the easterner he saw at the restaurant, and he wished he could see him again. He had no idea what he would say to him, and since he was just a kid, he might not even be interested in him. Hyunjin considered telling Lord Nicholas about it and asking him to look into it for him, but decided against it because he hardly knew Lord Nicholas.

"The Halets are hosting a gathering for their 50th anniversary. As I'm invited, would you like to tag along, Samuel?" Lord Nicholas asked at the dinner table.

"A gathering? Aren't there only be old people there?" Hyunjin asked putting his fork down.

"Not at all, all the houses will be bringing their children so in this chance you can make some friends." Lord Nicholas smiled as Hyunjin nodded.

"How about you,  young lord? Are you going?" Hyunjin looked at Elyot who was busy cutting his steak.

"Me? Not a chance! They are very boring, I would rather be horseback riding." Elyot said. "Also, can you not call me young lord? It sounds almost as unusual as if you do not mean it." Elyot rolled his eyes.

"Should I really go then?" Hyunjin asked Lord Nicholas.

"It is up to you, I would not be pressuring you to go."

"I will go then."

"That is great. Have you decided on which topics you would like to learn?"

"Yes! If you would allow me to say,  I'd like to learn history, alchemy and........and.. sorcery." Hyunjin said the last words almost inaudible.

"Sorcery?" Elyot asked from his surprise. "Why do you want to learn sorcery? It is very dangerous!"

"It seemed very interesting." Hyunjin scratched the nape of his neck.

"Do not do something just because you were interested." Lord Nicholas said.

"But I'm really earnest towards it, I really want to learn magic." Hyunjin pleaded.

"Meet me at my study after dinner." Lord Nicholas said before wiping his mouth as he got up from his seat to exit the room.

Hyunjin was concerned about what Lord Nicholas might want to discuss if he was adamantly opposed to learning sorcery. Hyunjin knocked on Lord Nicholas' study door and was quickly allowed to enter. He bowed before stepping calmly to the reading table and standing there.

"Does it have to do something with your dreams?" Lord Nicholas asked directly.

"Pardon?"  Hyunjin was taken aback.

"Your interest in studying sorcery."

".....No, I'm just simply interested as it seems very versatile."

Lord Nicholas stayed quiet for a while before he spoke. "Fine." He sighed. "I will look for a master sorcerer. But did you know sorcerers had a few rules to follow? Will you be able to abide by them?" He asked.

"Not yet, but I'm willing to do it to master it."

"Alright. I will let you meet your teachers soon. Have a good night then." Lord Nicholas smiled as Hyunjin bowed before leaving the room.

"Did he agree to it?" Elyot who was standing out in the hall asked once Hyunjin was out.

"You scared me! Ugh! Not yet..... He told me he'd find teachers." Hyunjin said placing his palm on his chest.

"Did you know magic students have to live at the magic tower until they are 20?" Elyot asked while crossing his arms. "That means you would be living there for twelve years. I don't think master will let you learn it." Elyot scoffed. Hyunjin didn't reply and walked past him towards his own room.

"Hey! You are very rude, you are lucky I am very humble towards you, other kids would flip the table at you if you acted like this towards them!" Elyot yelled, but it didn't reach Hyunjin since he was too preoccupied with whether it was a good idea to learn sorcery and also with that easterner he had seen at the restaurant earlier. He agreed to attend The Halet's meeting solely to check if the easterner would be there; based on his attire, he appeared to be an aristocrat. In addition, he had been out of the VIP room.
