I'm writing in Gon's POV and it's scary (the process, not the POV) Anyway, I'm sorry I took forever, but I actually spent too much time lazing around, /and/ I got writer's block. And oh God I'm switching my tenses (grammar tenses) so bull's shit-ly fast :(
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||I slammed Knuckle's hand down the easily, but instead of feeling triumphant, I felt uneasy. So I frowned at him.
"What's up?" I asked, poking at his hand lightly.
Well, I thought I poked it lightly."Ow." He mumbled, not moving nor soothing his hand of its supposed pain. "No, nothing." He said quickly, his voice had quit its quietness.
"No, not nothing. You've been off lately. Getting easily distracted." Uvo chimed in, "Especially," he added , shooting a hasty glance over at the table across ours, "when a certain group of people walks past, or is sitting or standing nearby." He gave the rest of us a meaningful look.
"Someone's in love~" A red-head sang, gliding past us.
Wait.
Gliding?
I craned my neck to stare after her.
She's on roller-skates.
From what I could see of her, she looked pretty dreamy.
Perfect for me.

Actually, that's bullshit, I say that about almost every girl and maybe some of the guys in school.
But still, a little voice in my head protested, those lot are just too pretty to resist!
But then how will I settle down for the sake of aunt Mito? I argued back.
Settling, the voice whined, boring.
I tried to get back to the conversation my teammates were having and ignore the annoying little voice that dared defy me.
The same voice that made me a player. The very same voice that I listened to after the 'incident' I had with a couple of people at the end of my last secondary school year. The same voice that made me a smashing success in this school.
Okay, so maybe that last one was too theatrical.
But anyway, I really gotta get back to reality now, incase some annoying gnat is trying to get my attention and asking me questions.
Speak of the devil.
"So is it serious with Retz then?" Someone asked, nudging me.
I pretended to study the casserole on my tray, so I don't have to look at (or ask for) whoever that asked me that stupid question. Of course it's not. So I told him that. At least, an unsure version of it.
"Don't know, dude. You know me. She might be my one, she might not. Don't know." I gave a half-hearted shrug.
"Of course she isn't." I heard one of the three boys (Killua) from that same table across us hiss to his friends. I could tell by the tone of his voice that he was rolling his eyes. "No-one ever is, not to him anyway."
That made me feel indignant, but also a bit interested as well. Finally, someone else not from my team who is able to repel my charm. I felt the urge to stroll over and ask for his phone number, which ever the three. I glanced over. Oh. I know them. The blonde one is our school's V-ball captain, the albino is the soccer captain, and the brunette one is that new pipsqueak who just moved in.
"Don't you think it's time for you to stop playing around with people's feelings and start finding a chick- or a dude- for yourself?" Illumi was asking me.
"Relax, darling, it's his first year at this, give him more time~" Hisoka said smoothly. Illumi looked disgustedly at him.
"And Hisoka. Don't you think it's time for you to actually start un-single-fy your self? And how about you stop being so God damned revolting, please?"
Yup, the no-nonsense, pre-rant phase is here. He'd make a perfect mom in the future, Illumi.
I mean... He is a senior and going to graduate soon.
I heard a table bang, followed by, "Illumi SHUT UP!"
Startled, I turned to the sound of the voice. The albino from the table is glowering at Illumi, and he's glowering back.
"Killua-don't-turn-this-into-a-fight." Illumi said through gritted teeth.
The albino glared at him frostily.
"Oh sorry, today is just my bad day, and so is yours, isn't it?" He quipped, "If you are to nag, could you please not do it so loudly?"
I leaned over to Nobunaga, "What's Illumi's relationship with him?" I whispered. I got my answer immediately.
"They're siblings," he said solemnly, "don't be too concerned, they do that all the time."
"Concerned." I said blankly. I sounded like I'm not familiar with that concept. By the way, just to inform you, I do understand the concept of concern. Believe me.
"Do not tell me you don't know what concern is." Nobunaga said.
"I'm- you did not have to tell me that!" I protested, "I'm completely capable of understanding concern!"
We turned our attention back to the fight. Except, the fight was already over in two seconds flat, where the volleybal captain and the brunette on was dragging the albino away from Illumi.
"YOU WILL TALK BACK TO ME WHEN YOU'VE EARNED THE PLACE OF HEIRLOOM!!" The albino screeched.
"Heirloom? What heirloom?" I asked. Okay so I know that Illumi (and his brother) are rich, but I didn't think it would stretch to, like, nobility or even royalty extent.
Great, the new kid was staring at me, unimpressed. Way to go. I internally groaned.

I didn't fall too behind with the word count, but it's not as much as the other chapters either. I'm sorry for the delay, and I probably lost a few readers, too. Anywho, enjoy the rest of your day!
