}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{As I empty my bag into my locker, I see her.
I immediately know that she's the one I should ask to the school Halloween party.
Don't ask me why the school still throw Halloween parties, but they're great when you want a girlfriend and simply have no time to pick and ask someone out.
I've never seen Naomi Everglode up close, but now that i do, I reckon she's my best bet. The others girls are way too sloppy, and it's not like the guys are out for me.
Naomi has azalea-colored hair worn in cute pigtails, blazing golden eyes and flaming red stilettos, always. It is her trademark.
And she seems like a bright shower of sparks, and I like confident girls.
I've made up my mind. I'm asking her out.

10:45 a.m
I asked her to the party. She just looked at me coolly over the rim of the glasses, turned to her friend (vice-president of the student council, Hannah), who looked kinda hurt (I don't know why) but nodded anyway. So Naomi turned back to me and told me to pick her up at five. The party starts at eight. I didn't ask anything further.

"So, how'd it go?" My teammate Dean asks me as I sit down. I shrug.
"We'll take that as a yes." My other teammate Robin says as the rest of the team sits down. He tosses his hair. Funny guy, Robin, I have no idea why he's like that. I've once told him my thoughts and received a long lecture about femininity in males.
Seriously, I didn't care more or less about feminists. But if they're what they are and are proud to be, then I respect them. You do you, I guess.
What I have to worry about now is how to get a new set of tux without going bankrupt. Father had kicked me out and forbidden Mamá to contact me. She still sends cheques from time to time though. Still, I had to find a part time job to survive. I only got in here, this fancy school because I was able to apply for scholarship and surprisingly won one. I'm astonished I am able to even have friends, let alone be a captain of the school's sport team.
"Thinking again about what a poor ass you are?" Shalnark asks, his chin propped on the back of his hands. I glare at him, he always seem to read my mind. Oh screw it, he reads everyone's minds except his own. You'd think he's an AI model, aware of his talents but never aware himself. It drives me crazy.
Sometimes he doesn't even know that he needs to sleep, as a human being, and that always leads to disastrous events that my teammates find hilarious. It's exhausting to deal with the bunch of them. But then attending captain meetings are quite entertaining, plus, I get to skip some of the shittiest classes in the meantime. The volleyball captain seems to always be the one who calls for these meetings. He must be one of the femboys in the school that Robin has told me about during his lecture.
Speaking of the devil, the loudspeaker announces for a captain's meeting after lunch.
"Who ever calls for the meetings are pretty careful, you know." Shalnark comments. "They always avoid your important subjects."
"Now that you mention, I've noticed too!"
"You never notice anything before anyone mentions it, Dean." Zepile mutters.
Dean chucks his sardine at Zepile.
