After the weekend, news of the renowned actress, Dami's engagement and Minho's eomma set the school ablaze with juicy gossip. Several different pop-culture magazines had speculated on the 'mystery man' his eomma was dating, everyone wanted to know; who could it be that stole one of the nation's top beauty?

Walking into the cafeteria, Minho carried himself with grace and an uncaring disposition despite the lowly rumble that came along with him. She watched him plop his bag down unceremoniously on an empty chair next to him and engage in a conversation with Q and the rest. Quietly, she fiddled with her fruit salad that had suddenly turned unappetising as she listened on her table's conversation. They were obsessively whispering about Minho's arrival while reading gossip articles about the new development in his life.

"Minho!" Jane's sharp voice cut through her ears. Adelaide looked up to see Minho, watching her with hawk eyes; one hand stuffed in his pocket as he held his school jacket loosely over his other shoulder.

"Why don't you sit with us?" His dark eyes zeroed in on her with purpose. In his usual style, it wasn't phrased as question but more of an order. He was intrigued to see how she would respond, even as heads slowly pivoted in their direction.

"Uh-"

"C'mon babe, let's go!" Yuri smoothly stole Adelaide's tray, confidently sashaying over to the boy's table. Smirking triumphantly, Minho followed closely behind Adelaide who trailed after her disappearing tray with a sad expression, like a baby who had her candy stolen right under her nose. Huffing in mild annoyance, she crossed her arms together. "I liked it better when you guys were fighting."

"Mwo? Neomu gwiyewo! Eotteoghae?"  (What? She's so cute! What should I do?) Yuri spoke to herself as if she would to a child and then turned to Juliana as if in a real contemplation.

"Thanks." Adelaide grinned cheerily and winked. Minho waved his thoughts away, shuddering and mildly uncomfortable. "Ew, okay cut it out guys. Not in front of my salad please." He gestured towards his meal with a flair of drama.

At this point, everyone seemed to be used to Minho's antics and simply ignored him. Adelaide stuck her tongue out pettily. "You're just jealous." He rested his elbow back on his chair and casually admitted. "I am." His quick withdrawal of defeat lent his friends to perk up in sudden interest.

"Are you avoiding me? You never talk, or sit with me- or any of us during classes, for that matter." As the table thought about Minho's words, Kitty continued. "Yeah! Even last week, too."

Chewing on her lip with indecision, Adelaide considered her options. Would telling the truth hurt their feelings or would it be better to rip off the band-aid and be honest about her own feelings? Despite the up-and-downs of adjusting to life here, these people had helped her open up in just a few days, she couldn't deny them of the truth. Clearing her throat, nervous laughter bubble up like sparkling champagne. "I don't know if you know this but you guys are kinda popular in this school, y'know, the smart, funny, athletic and charismatic people. Even back home, I always thought that I never fit in with the cool kids. So, why would it be different here?" Silence ensued while everyone genuinely mulled over her unexpected confession.

"HELLO! Let people talk. You don't have to 'fit in', you're the moment, in the present and right know, that's what matters." Q ranted heavily, placing both elbows on the table vehemently in passion. "Yah, yah! Elbows off the table." Dae chided Q.

"But Q is right, lunch time is reserved for us okay?" Kitty added cutely. Misty-eyed, Adelaide felt an overwhelming sense of gratefulness and peace wash over her. Underneath the table, Minho tapped his index finger on the back of her hand. "Good job." He mouthed a word of encouragement at her discreetly. On top of her topsy-turvy emotions, a subtle warmth crept up on the back of her neck, landing it's way to the tip of her pinkish ears.
