The following days of exams were gruelling, spent with countless sleepless nights and frantic morning revisions. With the aid of a swimming pool full of coffee and endless energy drinks, Adelaide had somehow pulled it off and crashed on her bed for the entire Saturday. When she finally manage to drag herself out of bed the next day, her hair looked like a rats nest and her face worse still.

Sprucing up her looks and dressing her Sunday best, she hopped on the subway to church; feeling as high as the clouds, even the cawing crows appeared to sing a melodic tune. This was her last weekend before leaving Seoul for winter break and she wanted to make the most out of it.

Her friend and lead vocalist for the worship team ran over to her, speaking in a sing-song voice, "Adelaidee! Are you going to join us for lunch today?"

"Mirae-ah! Sorry, today's the big day for the school's gala and I gotta help with last minute prep and final checks for the event," She replied, truly disheartened upon realising that this might be the last time they meet in awhile.

Unlike herself, Song Mirae seemed to have an air of quiet confidence following her albeit her gentle nature and flowy spirit. Initially, the both of them had steered clear of each other but after finding out they were the same age, they slowly warmed up to each other and bonded over their shared love of books and artful souls.

Frowning slightly, Mirae shook her head determinately and marched forward to lock arms with her. "Okay, then! Let me escort you back to your school!"

"You don't have to-"

"Nonsense! I can finally check out your infamous school and maybe even meet that mysterious boyfriend of yours," And with that, they headed off to the school, chattering noisily like two busy birds chirping in the sky.

Somehow, Mirae had ended up getting an impromptu tour of KISS and marvelled at the fancy facilities and large campus. Trailing the hallways, reality trickled in that this place Adelaide deemed a school for so long was n longer just that- it had become her home away from home and reserved a special place in her heart.

"Aand, this is the outdoor basketball court, where as you can see is quite popular on the weekends." She twiddled her legs as they approached the same bleachers of her first basketball game, the tiny moving figures on the asphalt now forming recognizable shapes on the court.

Squinting harshly, Adelaide seriously considered the possibility of her needing spectacles to see up close. In her defense, the running people were too quick on their feet for her to catch a glimpse of their faces. "Is that Q and Minho?" As the team paused momentarily for a break- or rather, stopped to catch a much needed breath of air, the boys spotted Adelaide and Mirae watching them.

"Dede!" Minho's excited voice travelled it's way over to her, wrapping her up in a hasty hug. "Ew! You're all sweaty and gross!" She squirmed dramatically but made no effort to push him away from his hold on her waist.

Sparkling with amusement, Mirae watched the happy couple's cute dynamics. "Oh! You must be Adelaide's boyfriend. I'm Mirae, her friend from church, it's nice to meet you! She talks about you a lot,"

Quirking his head to the side, Minho joked smoothly. "All good things, I hope."

"It's just the two of you today?" Adelaide questioned as Q siddled up over to the conversation. "Dae's on his way back now. I'm Q, by the way." He flashed his signature, friendly smile over to Mirae comfortably.

Although she returned his smile with a polite one, blood seemed to rush over to her head at the mention of the distinct Korean name. Unfortunately, her biggest fear was confirmed as Dae strolled over with his gym bag, unaware of the situation.
