"What are these?" Minho stared skeptically at the bag occupying space on their kitchen counter. "They're my snacks! I brought Malaysian ones for y'all to try!"

"There's Tamtam, Mamee monster and a bunch of jelly!" In her haste to protect her snacks from Minho's thieving hands she barely realised that he had taken her grocery bag just in time, placing them on the counter as she ruffled through her disposable Ikea bag. "Just clear the counter so we can start prepping the ingredients." He spoke with an edge, although his countenance betrayed a small smile at her adorable behaviour.

As everyone crowded over the island, Adelaide wrung her hands together as silence overtook them. Leaning forward, Q glanced around with an air of drama and spoke these words with the utmost of importance. "So, who's gonna help with cooking?"

"I'll wash the dishes instead. Gotta review some work before dinner." Dae offered graciously.

"I helped the last time," Q shot his arms up in surrender. "Well, I'm definitely not cooking with Yuri." Yuri gasped in offence. "Hey! I can cook too y'know."

"Over my dead body." Q replied.

"I can help." Kitty spoke, causing all the pair of eyes in the room to stare at the red-headed girl in horror.

"Yesterday, you made sundubu jjigae and added paprika instead of gochugaru." Adelaide folded her arms together, clearly appalled.

"Okay, you are not allowed in my kitchen." Minho raised his hands defensively, causing Kitty to raise her hands. "We were out of gochugaru!"

"Give up Kitty, this is our fate." Adelaide didn't miss the look Kitty gave Yuri as she touched her arm comfortingly and judging by Minho's cough- he did too.

Minho nodded to Adelaide, "You're on kitchen duty, Tan."

"I'm not good at cooking Korean food though." Adelaide said, ready to lounge on the couches. "Uh nope you're not escaping this. Your cooking is passable. Just follow my lead and you'll be fine." Minho whispered loudly back to her.

"It's settled then, we'll leave this to the both of you!" Q dispersed the crowd of hungry teenagers, leaving pair of awkward teenagers staring at each other.

. . .

Once the duo adjusted to the routine of the kitchen, it actually became quite comfortable as they allowed the clinking of pots and the soft bubbling of ingredients on the stove fill their silence. As Adelaide stirred the stew, Minho sliced the rolled eggs swiftly, the sound of his sharpened knife hitting the wooden board methodically. After plating it successfully, he leaned on the side of the kitchen counter and quietly watched her work, which was so unlike his usually sassy and commentative personality. "Dede, I really am sorry. About everything." Adelaide narrowed her eyes at his affectionate pet name for her, memories flashing haphazardly across her mind.

It was a hot slipper-melting day at the pier and Adelaide was leaning on a wooden bench, enjoying the shade of the umbrella masking her from the glaring sunlight. Tauntingly, Minho had appeared by her side with a tantalising huge cup of frozen yogurt in his hand. "You want some?"

"I do!" Her youngest cousin, Jin had emerged from thin air. "Jinnie ah I thought you were playing with aunty at the beach?"

Struggling to crawl onto the bench that was too high for him, Jin panted tiredly and plopped down in front of her. "Eomma says we're going home for dinner soon." He cast a longing look at her. "Jie jie, can I have froyo too?"
