Chapter 9: "Dream Break"

Kakuei woke up. Everything had this weird cold feeling.

Kakuei: Huh? Wh...where am I?

Everywhere Kakuei looked, all he could see was white. He got up and started to wander around.

Kakuei: Hello? Wakumi? Hidetoshi?

Then, a racing track, much bigger than Kakuei, appeared under him.

Kakuei: What the?

Following that, grandstands of fans cheering appeared. Then, Kakuei heard a familiar noise. The noise of an A.I. car; it seemed to be getting louder.

Race Announcer: And they're off! This is sure to be an exciting race!

Out in the distance, Kakuei could see what appeared to be a car. It got closer and closer until it turned out to be the Tigon Special, not only that but also the same size as Kakuei.

Race Announcer: Shigeru roars into an early lead!

Kakuei: GAGH!

Kakuei jumped out of the car's way just as it was about to run him over. He then took a few breaths.

Kakuei: Those cars aren't supposed to be that big!

Another car appeared, being the Monkshood, again being the same size as the Tigon Specia, raced towards him. Kakuei was a bit quicker to jump out of its way. Suddenly, a fleet of cars, also the same size, came out of the distance and raced towards Kakuei.

Kakuei: Waaaagghhhh!

Kakuei proceeded to dodge every single car coming his way. And once it was all over...

Race Announcer: And in last place, Dokuro Kakuei's car, Rokuyon.

The Rokuyon came out of the distance, albeit way slower than the other cars. The crowd's cheering turned to booing.

Race Announcer: What's going on? Kakuei seemed so promising but now he just sucks!

Just as the Rokuyon approached Kakuei, it stopped. Kakuei stared in terror at its size.

Kakuei: N-nice car...

Suddenly, the front of the Rokuyon morphed into a very-terrifying looking face.

Kakuei: Ack!

The Rokuyon's tires fell out, and out of the holes came very pointy-looking scorpion legs. Spikes poked out from the top of it, pincers came out from under the car's face, and a scorpion's tail grew out of the car's back. It wasn't even a car anymore, more of a terrifying car-scorpion hybrid. Kakuei could only whimper.

Kakuei: Wh-what's going on?!

The scorpion Rokuyon let out a very loud roar. That was when Kakuei knew he had to flee. So he started running away, but the scorpion chased after him.

Kakuei: Please... stop ch-chasing me!

The scorpion didn't listen, and got a bit faster. As Kakuei kept running away from the horrifying abomination, he suddenly tripped and fell on his butt. The scorpion approached Kakuei, and raised its pincers.

Kakuei: G-get away from me!

Just as the scorpion was about to strike Kakuei, everything disappeared. Kakuei took various deep breaths.

Kakuei: Is this madness over?

He then looked up. In the distance, he saw Wakumi and Hidetoshi, turned around, just standing there.

Kakuei: Guys!

Kakuei proceeded to run towards the two, but once he was halfway to them, they moved further away from him.
