"How's that?" you ask as you press a rag that was soaking in cold water to his forehead. The blonde shuddered at the sudden action.

"Cold, but if Barbara said it would lower my fever, then I don't mind," he replied. "Are you sure you're alright doing this? I don't want to get you sick."

"Of course," you replied. "You're still a guest in our kingdom and we have to treat you well. I don't mind since I consider you a friend."

"You do?"

"Yep," you nodded.

A gentle knock sounded, drawing your attention away from the knight. Kaeya poked his head in the room.

"Princess," he greeted, "it appears King Diluc invited Lady Jean over for lunch today. Did you know anything about this?" Two pairs of eyes watched as you smile.

"I do," you replied to your knight.

"Care to share some insight?"

"That's Diluc's story to tell," you replied with a teasing tone.

"Speaking of our dear king," Kaeya added, "he instructed me to tell you to get one of your mother's old journals from the east wing of the castle."

"Alright, I'll do it once I'm finished here. Did he mention a certain journal?"

"One where your mother and father first started courting."

Your eyes widened slightly before you gained your composure and nodded your head. "Thank you, Kaeya."

"Of course, Princess." You turned back to the blonde who was silent the whole time. His ruby hues were fixed on you.

"Would it be alright if I accompanied you to get the journal?"

"No," you replied. "I don't want you overexerting yourself."

"I think a bit of exercise will do me some good," Kaveh suggested. "Please."

Kaveh pleaded and kept asking until I eventually gave in and let him come with me. Besides, the exercise was good for him. It was a lot better than seeing him mope around in bed all day.

His room is in the west wing of the castle, so it will be a bit of a walk.

"It's over here," you called to the knight. He followed you through the castle in awe, stopping every few steps to admire the choice of decor. "We just need to go through this set of doors."

You gave the large wooden door a push. The door creaked open, revealing a small study. The afternoon sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the room. Bookshelves overflowing with novels lined the walls and a table with two chairs were placed .

"Wow," Kaveh whispered.

"Come on," you said as you motioned for him to follow you to a bookshelf. Your hands felt around for a particular journal.

"Are all of these your mom's journals?" he asked as he gestured to the shelf you were looking through.

"Yes," you replied, "Diluc and I found them all when we were kids. I used to keep them in my room until I realized it would be better if there was a designated place for them.
