Part 1

"I don't get it, how did I do so bad on the test" Renji said holding his test papers in his hands, "maybe if you studied more like I told you too, maybe you would have a better one" Rukia said holding her test paper in front of him to show him how well she did. "Yeah well I had other things to do as well as studying" Renji said crossing his arms and looking away from her, all Rukia did was giggle at him. "Ah Rukia" they herd the Head Professor say, "would you be so kind as to follow me please" he said, Rukia nodded and said goodbye to Renji, and followed the Head Professor. They stopped in front of his office door and walked inside, and to Rukia's surprise she saw two people standing there. "Rukia, I'd like to introduce you to, Byakuya and Jasmine, the Kuchiki twins," he said, Rukia's eyes widened in shock, she knew exactly who they were, the Kuchiki clan are a well known family in the Soul Society, especially the Kuchiki twins. "Hello, It's such an honor to meet you" Rukia said bowing to them. "And to you Rukia" Jasmine said with such an angelic voice, but Byakuya just hummed in response. "I'll leave you to talk," the Head Professor said and left the room. "I can't" Byakuya said looking straight into Rukia's eyes, "what" Jasmine said surprised, "I can't do this," he said and walked away, "excuse us a second Rukia," Jasmine said walking after her brother, "what are you doing?" Jasmine asked him as he stopped, "she looks to much like her, I can't do this" Byakuya said not looking at his sister. "Brother, this was her last wish, we found her and now we must protect her as our sister, it's what your wife wanted," Jasmine said trying to talk some sense into him, "how can I look at her everyday and not be reminded that my wife is gone" he said, and Jasmine could see he was hurting. "I know this is hard, and I will help in any way I can," Jasmine said giving his hand a squeeze, "fine, I need to head back, so you deal with getting her ready to leave" Byakuya said and left. 

Jasmine walked back over to Rukia, she watched as her ginger hair bounced as she walked towards her. "Why so nervous Rukia?" Jasmine asked giving her a warm smile, "I'm just confused as to why such important people would like to see me?" she asked bowing her head again, "oh please no need to be formal with me Rukia" Jasmine said waving her hand at her, "oh sorry" Rukia said and Jasmine giggled. "The reason we asked to speak with you is we have something to ask you" Jasmine said to her, "something to ask me?" Rukia asked surprised, "me and my dear Brother want to adopt you as our sister" Jasmine said smiling, and Rukia felt like her knees were about to buckle, "that is such an honor Miss Kuchiki, but why me if you don't mind me asking?" she said, "we have seen how dedicated you are on becoming a Soul Reaper, and me and my Brother think you would make a perfect Kuchiki, so what do you say, wanna be our little sister?" Jasmine asked, "but I haven't finished training here, I wouldn't be anything compared to Soul Reapers at the Seireitei," she said getting more nervous, "and what makes you say that? Anyway don't worry about finishing in this old dump, you will be coming with me today, and I'll be placing you in squad 13 where the Captain has agreed to train you more than the others" Jasmine explained, "I don't know what to say Miss Kuchiki" Rukia said, "say yes and I'll let you call me by my first name" Jasmine said giggling. "I would love more than anything to become a Kuchiki" Rukia said smiling, Jasmine then went over and hugged her knew sister, and Rukia felt so safe and warm, "can I ask you something?" Rukia said and Jasmine let go and nodded, "is it true that people call you The Red Reaper?" she asked, and Jasmine giggled, "they call me that because of the uniform I wear, as you can see I wear a long red coat, plus I added a hood so I can hide my face from whoever I want" Jasmine explained, "why would you need to hide your face?" Rukia asked, "I hide it from people who don't know what I look like, plus the big black bow on my back makes it more beautiful to wear," Jasmine said turning around to show her and Rukia smiled. "But you have different clothing underneath it than what Soul Reapers wear?" Rukia asked looking at her top and bottoms, "it's so I can move about more freely when fighting, my top half is wrapped in a white fabric just leaving my arms and shoulders free, and I just wear the same bottoms as everyone else" Jasmine said and Rukia understood, "now then, go get yourself packed, and someone will be waiting outside to take you to the Seireitei, I have to go back to train my squad, so I will see you later" Jasmine said walking away, leaving Rukia to say her goodbyes to Renji and pack. 

Jasmine made it back to her home, and her Lieutentant Jushiro was waiting for her. "Captain Kuchiki, glad you made it back, the squad has trained extra hard today in your absence" he said showing her the paper work, "that's music to my ears Jushiro" she said looking over the papers, "squad 1 has always been amazing" she said sitting down on her cushion, "sit Jushiro" Jasmine said pointing to the cushion opposite the table from her, "so how did it go with Miss Rukia" he asked pouring her tea, "better than expected, Byakuya nearly backed down but I talked him out of it, but she was more than happy to accept the offer" Jasmine said still looking at the papers. "Your a good sister to him, and I'm sure you will be to Rukia as well" he said, "me to" Jasmine said giggling. "So what squad did you settle with?" he asked taking a sip of his tea, "I think squad 13 should be fitting," Jasmine said finally putting the papers down and drinking her tea. "I agree, when will she be arriving?" Jushrio asked, "should be soon, depends who she is saying goodbye to and how much she needs to pack," Jasmine said, but then their was a knock at her door, "Captain Kuchiki, Miss Rukia Kuchiki has arrived, shall I send her in?" the man asked kneeling in front of the open door, "yes please do" Jasmine said surprised at how fast she got here. "Hello Captain Kuchiki" Rukia said kneeling at the door, "come in Rukia, no need to be formal around me" Jasmine said patting the cushion next to her, and Rukia sat down, "Rukia, I'd like you to meet my wonderful Lieutenant Jushiro" Jasmine said and Rukia bowed her head to him, "it's nice to meet you Rukia, your very lucky to have Jasmine as your sister, she has a pure heart towards everyone" Jushrio said looking at Jasmine with love in his eyes. "I'll leave you ladies to settle, and I will go make sure your squad is prepared for tomorrow, good day Captain Kuchiki, and good day to you Rukia," Jushiro said and left. "Rukia, if you don't mind me asking but where are your things?" Jasmine asked, "I didn't have much to bring, and a member of your squad said he would take what I had to where I would be staying" Rukia explained and Jasmine nodded. 

"Capt-" Rukia began, "call me Jasmine" Jasmine interrupted, "sorry Jasmine, might I ask who my Captain will be?" Rukia asked, "my husband, Kaien Shiba" Jasmine said smiling, "your husband, I had no idea you were married" Rukia asked shocked, "for many happy years" Jasmine said giggling holding her hand up to show her the wedding ring, "have you not changed your last name yet?" Rukia asked, "the Kuchiki name is a big thing to give up, as my Brother told me many times, so me and Kaien settled with Jasmine Shiba Kuchiki" Jasmine explained, "I see, I guess if I get married some day I would have to do the same" Rukia said, "you don't have to, it was both Kaien and Byakuya that told me to keep the Kuchiki name," Jasmine said giggling, "now then, shall we go see your new Captain?" Jasmine said standing up and holding her hand out to Rukia, "yes please" Rukia said taking her hand and standing up. As they were walking, everyone was greeting Jasmine, and she was greeting back with warm smiles, "everyone seems to like you very much" Rukia said, "I like making friends so I tried to be kind to everyone, I guess it worked" Jasmine said laughing and Rukia joined in. They reached the training area where squad 13 was, and Jasmine was ready to introduce Rukia to her husband.
