My Love My Life (Ichigo Kurosaki)

Part 3

It has been a few months now since Rukia became a Kuchiki, and she has never been happier, she has so much fun spending time with Jasmine, she makes her feel apart of a family, she feels safe and loved, and her husband Kaien has been an amazing Captain, she has learned so much from her training, she was getting used to Byakuya, but she still hasn't had a conversation with him, all she does is tell him what she has done for the day and he tells her to leave. But Rukia didn't care, because Jasmine made it easy for her, and she loved it when it was her, Jasmine and Kaien together, she loved how happy they made each other. 

They were both walking the grounds admiring how nice of a day it was, "where's Kaien" Rukia asked as she hasn't seen him all day, "he's taken some of his squad members to go train in the woods, see if they have improved at all" Jasmine explained, "I see," Rukia said, "Captain Kuchiki!" somebody shouted for her, she quickly turned around and saw someone running towards her, "woah slow down, what's going on" she asked trying to calm him down, "It's Captain Shiba" he said and Jasmine was worried, "what about him" she asked, "a hollow jumped us, he's out there fighting it on his own, but I think it's too strong for him" he explained, "Rukia go back home I'll be back soon" Jasmine said and ran with the Soul Reaper to help her husband. 

Some time had passed and Rukia was getting worried about Jasmine, she still hasn't returned with Kaien, so she left to go find them, she ran into the woods and what she saw shocked her. Jasmine was in a stance with her zanpakuto, she was bruised and bleeding, and in front of her was Kaien who didn't look like himself, "Rukia, get up here" she herd someone say above her, she looked up and saw it was Jasmine's Lieutenant Jushiro, "now Rukia" he yelled, she jumped up and stood next to him, "Jasmine told you too stay put, why are you here" he asked, "I was worried, what's happening" she asked looking at them both, "the hollow took over Kaien, Jasmine didn't make it in time, and now she is trying to save him" Jushiro explained, "we have to help them" Rukia said, "no, what she is about to do she has to do on her own" Jushiro said, "what do you mean, what is she about to do?" Rukia asked worried, but Jushiro didn't answer. Rukia looked down and watched them. "Well Jasmine, what are you going to do, the more you attack me the more you hurt your precious husband" the hollow controlling Kaien said, "Kaien, if you can hear me, I love you, I love you so much, and I'm sorry" she said as tears fell down her cheeks, "hahaha you hear that Kaien, your wife is crying for you" he laughed, "no let's end this" he said and lunged towards Jasmine, she stood still and waited for the hollow to get closer, "JASMINE MOVE" Rukia yelled but Jasmine didn't listen. 

All of a sudden, Jasmine lunged her zanpakuto forward into Kaien's stomach, he was now leaning on her with his head on her shoulder with the zanpakuto coming out from his back. Jasmine's knees buckled and they were both kneeling on the floor, Kaien leaning more over Jasmine as she was a lot shorter than him, "Jasmine" he weakly said lifting his hand and placing it on her back, "thank you for saving me," he said holding her, "I didn't save you, because now your dying" she cried, "please don't cry, you saved me from being consumed by that hollow, and for that I am grateful" he said, "Kaien please don't leave me, please" Jasmine said as more tears fell, "Jasmine, you have given me the best life a man could ask for, marrying you, letting me love you, all of it, I couldn't have asked for more, thank you Jasmine" he said as he became weaker. "Jasmine promise me something, you make sure the next man you meet treats you better than I could have" he said and Jasmine couldn't believe what he was saying, "what are you talking about, how can I love another man, no one can treat me better than you do" Jasmine said to him, "I can't stand the thought of you being alone Jasmine, you need to be loved, you deserve to be loved," he said, and Jasmine can feel him beginning to weaken, "Kaien please, I love you" she cried, "I love you too, I'll always love you" he said, and his arm dropped, Jasmine knew he was gone, "Kaien please" she said pulling him closer, "Kaien? KAIEN!" she screamed, "NO! NO!" she screamed and Joshiro couldn't take it anymore, he jumped down and tried to help Jasmine, but she wouldn't let go of her husband, "Jasmine, we have to get him back" Jushiro said trying to get her to let go, "he can't leave me, he can't" Jasmine said as she cried, "I'll take it from here" they herd Byakuya say, he walked over and pried Jasmine away, "LET GO! PLEASE!" she cried, he turned her around and hugged her tightly, "Rukia" he said to her up in the tree, she was still in shock at what happened, but she jumped down and waited for him to speak. "Go back and tell the Head Captain what has happened, and that we need a proper burial for her husband" he said as Jasmine cried into his chest, "Joshiro, can I trust you to deliver his body" Byakuya asked, "of course Captain" he said. 

Byakuya helped Jasmine get ready for Kaien's funeral, but she hasn't said a word to him, "are you ready?" he asked her, she looked at him, and he could see the emptiness in her eyes, she nodded and they made their way to the funeral. Byakuya walked with Jasmine as others carried Kaien's coffin. Jasmine watched as he was placed into the ground, "Jasmine, would you like to say a few words?" The Head Captain asked her, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything. The funeral ended and Byakuya helped Jasmine back to her home, where she would have to stay alone, "it feels empty" Jasmine choked out, "I will be back to check on you in the morning, goodnight Jasmine" he said and left. "Jasmine?" she herd Rukia say at her door, "not now Rukia" Jasmine sighed, "I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss" she said, "get out Rukia" Jasmine warned her, "I just want to help Jasmine" Rukia said, "go away Rukia!" Jasmine screamed and Rukia was shocked, Jasmine never screamed at anyone or get angry, Rukia left to give her some space. 

The next couple of months have been hell for Jasmine, she has nightmares most nights of her zanpakuto going through Kaien and ending his life, and her kindness and loving nature towards others has disappeared. She wouldn't talk to anyone, and when she did she was angry and would snap. Rukia hated seeing her this way, and she wished she could do something, but every time she tried Jasmine would tell her to leave her alone. Jasmine was currently sitting alone in her home, and she had finally had enough, she sneaked out in the night and went to the portal to the world of the living, she was leaving everything behind, she couldn't stay here without Kaien anymore, she looked back at her old life one last time, and entered the portal to start her knew life.
