Part 14

Jasmine opened the door and saw Ichigo waiting for her, "ready" she said getting his attention, his eyes widened when they saw her, "Jasmine, you look beautiful" he said taking her hand, "have her back by midnight Ichigo" Orihime joked waving them goodbye, they both smiled and walked together. "So where are you taking me" Jasmine asked him still holding hands with him, "it's a surprise" he said as they continued to walk together. After a little while they came to a stop, they were on top of a hill leading out to a field where the night sky was in full view, and there was a blanket with candles out on the floor, "you did a picnic for me?" Jasmine asked amazed at what he did for her, "I did, come on" he said helping her sit down while he sat down next to her, "this is amazing Ichigo" Jasmine said as he was getting the food he prepared ready, "this is just the beginning" Ichigo said handing her the food, "what do you mean?" she asked taking a bite, Ichigo then looked at his watched and smiled, "look up" he said pointing to the sky, Jasmine looked up and her eyes lit up, there were fireworks going off in the sky, "oh wow" she said amazed at all the colors, Ichigo then wrapped a spare blanket around them both and pulled her in close, "oh Ichigo, this wonderful, thank you" Jasmine said resting her head on his shoulder, "here, stand up" he said helping her up, he then wrapped the blanket fully around Jasmine, and held her from behind as they watched the fireworks. "Ichigo?" Jasmine said turning around to face him, "yeah?" he said holding her hands in his, "I need to tell you something?" Jasmine said, Ichigo was listening, "I- I think- I'm-" she tried to say, but Ichigo stepped in, "I'm falling for you too" he said making her eyes go wide, "you are?" Jasmine asked smiling, "how could I not? I know you can't talk about your past, and I can't imagine what you went through when you lost your husband, but seeing you let down your walls and becoming your true self, well I couldn't help but fall for you, I just want to protect you, and help heal your broken heart" he said making her blush and smile, "Ichigo, you already have" she said, he smiled and placed a hand on her cheek, he then slowly leaned in closer to her lips, but just as they were inches apart from sharing their first kiss together, Jasmine let out an agonizing scream as she felt an intense pain from her back , "AHHH" she screamed and collapsed into Ichigo's arms, "JASMINE!" he yelled holding her and lowering her to the ground, but she wasn't moving, "Jasmine? Jasmine?!" he yelled trying to wake her up, he tried to feel for a pulse, but nothing, "no...no...NO!" he screamed holding her close, "don't do this Jasmine please! What happened?! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!" he screamed and held her close to his chest. 

In the distance stood Byakuya and his Lieutenant Renji, and in Renji's arms was Jasmine unconscious, Byakuya had snatched Jasmine from her gigai so fast that it wasn't even visible to Ichigo, "let's go, she is dead to this world now" Byakuya said as he opened the portal to the Soul Society, whilst leaving Ichigo to scream for Jasmine to wake up. 

Jasmine woke up and realized she was in her own home, Byakuya had brought her back, after 3 years she was home again. "Your awake" Byakuya said walking in and sitting on the floor beside her, but Jasmine didn't say anything, she couldn't even look at him, "3 years, for 3 years I didn't know if you were ok, or even alive sister" he said, "you even went that extra mile to hide your spiritual pressure," he said, and Jasmine still didn't answer, "talk to me sister, I deserve to know why you ran away" he said, and this time she looked at him, "because it was killing me being here without Kaien, I had to leave, and I'm glad I did" Jasmine said to him, "is it because you fell for that boy" he said looking straight into his eyes, "I see why, he does resemble him" he said making Jasmine angry, "that is not the reason I fell for him" Jasmine growled at him, "we will leave it at that, and never speak of it again, so long as you never see him again, he believes you are dead, I'd like to keep it that way" he said getting up to leave, "off all the things you could have done to bring me back, I never thought you would be this cruel" Jasmine said not looking at him, "I've always protected you, and I don't plan on stopping now" he said and left, leaving Jasmine to cry by herself, she couldn't imagine what Ichigo must be going through right now, and she couldn't be there to find out. 

A few days had gone by, and it was now Jasmine's first day back to training her squad. She walked over to where she would be training and saw them waiting for her, "Captain Kuchiki" they all said in union as they waited for instructions, "just show me what you have done in my absence" Jasmine sighed waving them off, "Captain Kuchiki" she herd her Lieutenant say, "Jushiro, I've always told you, don't be so formal with me" Jasmine said watching her squad, "your brother told me what happened, I'm sorry he did that to you" he said putting a hand on her shoulder, "what's done is done, Ichigo thinks I'm dead, and I'll never see him again" Jasmine said looking down, saddened by the situation. "I see they have improved" Jasmine said referring to her squad, "they wanted to be stronger for your return, you know how much they appreciate all you do for them" Jushiro explained, and Jasmine felt proud of them, "take the day off guys, you've done me proud" she shouted to her squad, they all thanked her and left for the day. "You know there is one person who would love to see you" Jushiro said to her, "I know, I'll head over to him now" Jasmine said as she walked away, "Jasmine, it's good to have you back" Jushrio said, she smiled at him and carried on her way. Jasmine reached the home of the person who wants to see her, she knocked and entered, only to be greeted by Captain Sosuke Aizen.

"Miss Kuchiki" he said walking towards her, "I'm so glad you made it back safe" he said hugging her, "hello Aizen" she said gently pushing him away, "come sit, I made tea" he said, Jasmine followed and sat down by his table as he poured her a cup, "so how are you doing, considering what has happened" he asked her, she took a sip of her tea and sighed, "i take it everyone knows then" she said putting her cup down, "I am sorry to hear, I'm sure it has been difficult" he said placing a hand on hers, but it made Jasmine a bit uncomfortable with the way he stroking his thumb on her hand, "I think it's time I left, I'm quite tired" Jasmine said standing up to leave, "Jasmine" she herd Aizen say, she stopped and looked at him, "I'll be here for you, no matter what" he said giving her a weird smile, Jasmine gave a fake one back and left.  

Jasmine arrived at her home, it still felt so weird to live here alone, and she was still worried about Ichigo, and she hoped that Rukia was ok too keep an eye on him alone, "Jasmine" she herd her brother walk in, "where have you been, I haven't seen you since you dragged me back" she coldly not looking at him, "I'm here to tell you I've brought Rukia back, and she has been placed in a cell for the time being" Byakuya said, and Jasmine turned around shocked, "what?!" Jasmine yelled, "why has our sister been put into a cell?!" she asked getting more and more angry, "for her crimes by giving her powers to Ichigo Kurosaki" Byakuya explained, and Jasmine was confused, "she did it to save his family, she did it to protect him, it's not a crime brother!" Jasmine explained confused and angry, "where is Ichigo" she asked him, but he didn't respond, "brother what did you do" Jasmine growled at him, "he put up a good fight, but he will live" he said and walked out. Jasmine couldn't understand what was happening, Byakuya hurt Ichigo to bring Rukia back, only to have her thrown into a cell for something she had no choice but to do, she had to get to the bottom of this, and fast.
